Second Steering Pump Failure

Does anyone know if there is a fuse I can pull that will stop the constant alarm dinging in the dash showing the “service power steering” notice?

Nothing I can find without taking out the whole cluster.

I think they intergrate a small audio speaker on the back of the cluster for instrument cluster audio. So it is a all or nothing thing.

Just finished the holiday/wedding trip to Langley/Surrey/White Rock, BC with no power steering. It was easily 1600 kms of strong arm steering and I managed to get around and do all the things I need to do and get back to Calgary. Truck goes in on Monday for a new steering pump and I’ve got to give a big shout out to Big 4 Motors in Calgary for hunting down this pump for me. They found one in 3 days of looking whereas Kamloops Dodge/Jeep said it was at least 2 weeks to get.

Looking forward to get this repaired and for the constant dinging to stop.

I’m seriously considering doing this kit as it seems my two pumps quit when it’s hot outside. The pump gets hot and quits. How many other pumps quit in climates that are, for the most part,…hot, like in Arizona or other dry desert places in the States??



Is this a good idea?

Over three years in the Nevada desert with no steering pump issues. I did have the TSB done to replace the steering box.
