Synergy has updated their bracket. Now it does not require any cutting or grinding like it used to. It was an easy install on my diesel.

Any noticeable difference? Where did you get it from?

I did ball joints at the same time as the Synergy bracket a short while back when I was having death wobble problems. I put in Teraflex HD ball joints that are adjustable. My issues cleared up. A couple weeks ago they came back and I started chasing the problem. I rechecked the ball joints after @Free2roam commented about a local shop and one of the set screws had come loose and the ball joint got really loose. I went around and torqued them all back to spec and my problem is resolved. So thanks for the reminder to check mine and if you are still running on the stock ball joints upgrade them.

Resurrecting this thread... @rezar1: now that you've had yours for almost a year, any feedback? I just installed mine and went for a test drive and was not impressed. But, hoping maybe more time behind the wheel in different situations may prove otherwise?
Can you elaborate. What are you not satisfied with?

My opinion:

Like others I went back and forth and settled on steer smart- mostly for the girth of the bracket. It is probably over built? But why not. I purchased a little bit ago- and when I saw the new synergy with bearing…. This definitely made the decision more challenging. At the end of the day they both probably do a good job. I am curious as to how well the two bolts that hold the bearing bracket on- stay put… just have a haunch that this may come loose.

Regardless, these kits re-enforce the frame and beef up the track bar mount. This is the important part….

The sector shaft on the JL/JT is pretty substantial… if you are running big tires and wheeling- not just to Target ;) getting the steering box ported and going to hydro assist is what is needed. The sector shaft brace isn’t a total wash as it does provide some strength…. But me personally- not what I’m focused on. The frame strength and track bar bracket beef is what’s important. Ram assist will move the pressure that will snap the sector shaft… ??? my opinion and $0.02…. So if your on big tires…. Keep spending that cash! Jeep gods want more! ;)

Those that are going synergy- what is it about the synergy you preferred over steer smart?

@Northridge4x4 is where I picked the brace up- also who I’ll pick the PSC pieces up from to finish steering when the time comes. ?

I have the Steer Smarts ine in both my Mojave and my wife's JLU, it is beefy! The Synergy was updated after I put mine on. It now has a sealed bearing (option) like the Steer Smarts one. It also uses a single bolt to hold the bearing carrier to the bracket, I like that better. But who knows if that is better or not. One thing I don't like is it is grey, not a huge deal, but I keep everything on my trucks black. I don't want a host of different colors in my suspension parts, black, grey, gold, etc .. Every MC part I buy I have to paint and that is a PIA and isn't as good as the factory Steer Smarts coating. Just something to think about.
My $0.02 is that both the Steer Smarts and Synergy sector braces are good. Only time will tell if the single bolt over the duel bilt is better.

I just didn't feel like it helped anything that I could "feel" in the steering. After running 37" tires for the last 2 years, maybe it has saved me from getting any looser, but I can't say. For me, I guess, it was more like an insurance policy than a "wow, gotta have it" upgrade.

I've heard that the track bar mount is a weak point and flexes. Possibly breaking eventually. I'm not running anything bigger than the Rubicon take off tires. But still getting a good wobble. Usually happens on the drivers side after hitting a bump.

I have seen some pictures where the Track bar mount has bent and also there was rust by the weld, indicating flex.
So at very least I would have put a track bar brace on anyway. It is not much more $$ for the sector shaft brace.
The sector shaft brace (at least the Steer Smarts one) is the track bar brace + the extra parts for the sector shaft.

I do like the fact that the Steer Smarts does both.

I was thinking that I can put on the synergy brace minus the bearing part on the steering box. Just to strengthen up the track bar. Being as how I already have the Meatalcloak brace already on. This way it's captured from both sides. Thoughts on that?

Over a year with the Metalcloak, and still loving it.
Ignore the dirt. I've been busy with the trees.

I don't know if there's room in the Synergy to go "over" the metalcloak. Looking at the designs, it seems like it might work but maybe not.
