Greetings Everyone....switching gears a bit and trading in my base Sport w max tow pkg for a few aesthetic reasons. Want to go white w/ white hard top and Katzkin leather in an old school baseball glove color (kinda of a worn medium brown). Nevertheless, I'm seeking opinions about the towing capacity of an Overland. We've downsized our house by getting rid of our children (off to college) and have recently sold our large RV that I used to pull with a Ram 2500. Have also gotten rid of the Ram. Looking at new RV's and the one's we're looking at are around 5K lbs.
Do any Overland owners who regularly tow regret not getting a Gladiator w/ the max tow pkg?
Side note: Have seen some killer deals on Overlands with no tow pkg which is actually somewhat of a misnomer. The wiring is there as is the crossmember that a box receiver hitch can be mounted to. Towing capacity is rated at 4K lbs. I believe due to the cross member and maybe bc of a 220w alternator vs a 240 watt. If one were to buy a Mopar class IV hitch, I don't see why that Overland with no factory tow pkg wouldn't be just as capable of towing 6k lbs just like the Overlands with the factory towing pkg.
