Youre all right. Im glad I had you guys to help talk my head back to where it needed to be. My wife was pushing me to the dark side.
I have no NEED to get one and they contacted me wanting to buy mije so they could have used inventory.
The sales man sent me a message because he "forgot" earlier. the sales manager looked at the info, and they can only offer 46k for my overland. not the 52k that they originally said on the phone.

Im good with my overland. just gonna build it up, and when this recession hits and end of year, ill find a deal on a new mojave, or wait til that new huricane engine releases.

Glad you’re keeping it, wouldn’t be smart to trade-in on a vehicle that’s a year older than yours when the 2023s are out too.

Looks like it’s unanimous. Have never seen agreement like this before. I especially agree with Bleda2002 Re. Keeping yours. You know the history of yours and nothing about what kind of life the Mojave has had the past two + years. I really like the Mojave also, but I would only move up for a new one.

I love my Mojave but that makes zero sense to me. You’ve already upgraded the suspension on yours, which is most of the value of buying a Mojave. The additional reinforcements are great but will you ever notice? 4.10 is an upgrade but I’m already thinking of 4.56 or 4.88 and I am still on stock wheels and tires. Rear locker is great but do you really need it? Love the seats and steering wheel but you could easily swap them over. I think it’s unanimous because it’s such a no-brainer decision, don’t let the stealership tempt you!

Ya, I already have all the part numbers to get and swap the seats and steering wheel.

For the wheel, I would look into the cost of just having yours professionally wrapped with new leather. It would give that thicker feel, probably be higher quality leather, and you wouldn’t be stuck with orange stitching.

Bro just trade it in for a 2023 Mojave or something if you are wanting one. Used are costing almost as much as new.

Or keep your current rig. Sounds like she has treated you fairly well. You KNOW yours isn't a lemon right now. You don't know that about whatever you trade it in for.

ya im looking into everything. kinda dumb, but i like the bulges on the mojave wheel, orange stitching not as much. But the research and everything gives me something to do at work to space out a bit and when i need a break from the BS. Also looking into the 392 wheel, I dont need the paddle shifters, but another thing.

they claim they can get the payments within $25 of what im currently paying.
Any time a financing person comes to me with this kind of statement, it's a giant red flag. What are they doing to get you there? What crazy loan terms and associated interest rate are they pulling? Gets very expensive in the long run all in the name of maintaining a certain payment number.

"Yeah, payment's the same, but the truck now costs $3k more, the interest rate went up by 4 points, and the loan is stretched out over 7 years. Good doing business with you!"

I'm glad you're passing on this. Just reading it made me uncomfortable.

Ya all their BS on the phone. i didnt like it. then they wanted me to drive an hour after work, hoping id be tired and just give in and sign whatever. Homie dont play that. they couldnt even answer me when i asked them what the $2k "premium protection package" was and why is it required.

If your not going run the sand at high speeds Mojave is not required you have a very capable vehicle already with lots of great features. Unless you just want to say you have a Mojave. I had dealership recently want to buy my JT. They spun everything they could and I just said no. Unless you going to put me in a brand new one for what I owe currently on this one then not interested. I have this one where I want it and have had almost no issues with it.

I agree with pretty much everyone else here. I wouldn't trade in unless going new and definitely look at the terms, not just base it off payments.

That being said, if you are still planning on spending money converting your ride to Mojave equivalent parts, it might be worth seeing what a high volume dealer would quote you for a new Mojave ordered exactly how you want it. You need to be patient waiting for it to be built, but I got mine significantly below invoice that way.

Do not muddy the waters when it comes to vehicle transactions at dealers. You would do best (generally) to not confuse things with a trade-in.

Go to Carmax. If the dealer is now offering you $46k on trade-in, I’d be shocked if Carmax won’t do better. That or maybe $46k is the going rate and they were just trying to get you in the door by dangling $52k out there.

Dealerships are like sharks
they can smell blood in the water. You come in there wanting to “trade-up” to a “cooler” trim level, you’re most likely not going to get a deal.

Even if they don’t bend you over on trade-in, they’re going to bake the difference into the out the door amount.
