Hi All,
New to this forum. I just installed a 3.5 in spacer lift on my Gladiator Sport S yesterday. I now have a Service traction system warning light. I am bringing it in to be aligned tomorrow. Does anyone know what could cause this light to come on after the lift install?

If the steering wheel isn't centered (most likely issue) they may have accidentally damaged a wheel speed sensor.

Centering the steering wheel requires loosening one nut on the draglink and turning the collar while someone else watches the steering wheel. Not worth taking it in for an alignment as mentioned above.. Takes less than 5 minutes.

It says Stability control. Are you thinking that means traction control?

Your Jeep thinks you're in a skid because the tires are pointed one way, but the steering wheel is reporting a different direction. Recenter your steering wheel and be done with it. There isn't much that can actually be aligned on the JT. What an alignment shop can do is take measurements and tell you that you need new parts or cam bolts or maybe to adjust the toe or recenter the steering. And that's about the limit of what an alignment buys you.

Honestly, think very seriously about that 3.5" lift. Not only have you disrupted your wheel centering, but you've also shifted your axles, one left the other right, throwing your tires out of tracking, and you're putting a lot of stress on the driveshafts that will cause them to fail early, and you've thrown off the caster, which gives you that light steering feel ("Like driving on ice" is how many folks describe it). And caster is not adjustable--that's where cam bolts come in, but they are easily loosened when the vehicle is used off-road so are discourage for all vehicles except street queens. So, instead you upgrade your front control arms so that you can actually adjust the caster. And while you're replacing parts, go ahead and buy adjustable track bars for the front and rear so you can adjust the tracking issue. And you may as well replace the driveshafts before those weak Rzeppa joints fail with proper driveshafts, and then you'll need to adjust the pinion angle of your differentials for the constant velocity U-joints you now have which means more adjustable control arms. I bet whoever sold you that 3.5" lift didn't bother to mention that unless you put on tires that required that much lift (probably 37" for a Sport) you've gained almost no improvement in performance, but you've raised your center of gravity and reduced your vehicle reliability.

Pump and Dump poster. He either will never be back, or come back with his next induced problem he cannot figure out.

OK, so I had the same issue after installing a Mopar 2" lift and 1" leveling spacer. Also installed an adjustable front track bar. I drove without re-centering the steering wheel and got the "Service Stability Control" message. I have now re-centered the steering wheel. How do I get the "Service Stability Control" light to go out? Will it "fix" itself now? Do I need to disconnect the battery and reconnect? Do I need to take it to the dealer?

2023 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon with AEV 2.5" lift
Hello future! I've got a 2023 Gladiator Rubicon that I lifted 2.5" with an AES lift. I still have the factory 33" tires on it, but I'm still very excited. Anyway, I noticed this while driving a few hours home from the shop. It's late now, but hopefully this works. Here's the Internet archive version of this link
Since that site seems dead now. http://web.archive.org/web/20190913.../fix-the-esc-warning-in-your-jl-after-a-lift/
Hopefully this helps me or someone else going forward.
