Did your exhaust really melt the rear bumper fascia?

That's not cool... figuratively or literally.

I melted the passenger side of my rear bumper and reflector pulling my enclosed trailer. I bought it used and original owner had cut the exhaust pipe just past the rear end so it was blowing the hot exhaust straight back on the bumper. Drove it a couple months with no issues but I guess pulling the trailer at 75mph up some pretty good hills got my egt’s high enough to melt it. Btw mine is a diesel.

Towing any trailer up any hill or on any road is too fast. Just check the speed rating on your trailer tires.

So is there some missing info here like a aftermarket exhaust?
It’s been modified but it’s been issue free for a year now. This happened recently

Hmmm, idk it’s steel underneath so it won’t spread. And I got other mods I want more. Pretty much gonna leave it be I guess.
