I am currently running the Metalcloak 3.5” true dual rate kit on my JT Sport with the Rock Sport red shocks.
The shocks are starting to wear and I want to upgrade but I do not like Fox shocks, I have had one fail in the past, and they seem to ride a little stiff also, so I would like to avoid them.
I have done some tough trails in Colorado and Moab rated 8 and 9, but mostly 4 - 6 ratings, and road diving.
Is anyone running another brand shock with their Metalcloak kit, they would recommend.
Thanks

I'm a little biased... but the RockSport Blacks in combination with the True Dual Rate to Game Changer Upgrade... yeah... that's the ticket. ;)

Wait, I’ll take out a 2nd mortgage so I can do that ;)
Seriously though, I don’t think I need remote reservoir or that high end

If price point is a concern, then get some bilstein 5100s

Totally understand!

Ultimately our shocks are designed and tuned to work perfectly with our kits... so another set of Reds would be your best performance option.

I am running the Falcon SP2 3.3 fast adjust for over 50K miles and they have been bullet proof. Lots of badge of honor trails and the Rubicon trail twice. The best off-road shocks I have every purchased. The quick adjustability really comes in very handy with various loads and terrains. The rears go all the way to 32.3" which will give you full rear articulation with the metalcloak kit. Check out the length in this chart.

Depends who you ask
You don’t say how many miles you got out of the Rocksports but if they lasted a reasonable amount of time why wouldn’t you replace them with the same? They are on sale for Columbus Day to boot.

That's strange, On jeeps in my opinion Fox is one of the softer riding shocks. Bilstein would be stiffer. If on a budget and don't want Fox, I would stick with the Red rocksports.

I heard that something with the design of the Falcon's means they don't work with the MC lifts. Can you confirm you're using these with an MC TC or GC lift?

No, I cannot confirm. I installed my Falcon SP2 3.3 shocks on a Clayton 3.5" Overland Plus kit. Probably, best to call MC and check it out. Note: the rear extension of these shocks is long, so, it is possible to unseat certain springs at full extension. It is best to install the Teraflex JT rear coil spring retainer kit for approx. $65. I added the retainer kit to my Clayton rear springs.

Thanks, you’d suggested this in a thread about the MC lift so I assumed you were running such.
