Just took possession of a Willys gladiator. Have been looking at the Clayton leveling kit. What shocks do you all recommend for this kit. Looking at replacing all four shocks. What is everyone's suggestions Fox, King or ?

Falcon and fox 2.0 are the common ones most seem to get. I have a set of bilstein 5100s en route for my suspension upgrades. I went with bilstein because they seem to work well with springs I also purchased, eibach.

Clayton recommends the falcons or fox, so I’m guessing they Pair well with their springs.

Which of their kits are you getting? They have great customer service and are very timely with their responses, either on here or by email.

I have Bilsteins here for when my Clayton lift arrives. I had Bilstein 5100s on a TJ and liked them. I think they’ll be fine and hopefully nice on the JT.

With the Clayton 1.5” you might not need to upgrade the shocks. Yes, it would be better to upgrade but, many have installed the teraflex spacer which is the same lift amount and have run their stock shocks. I’m one of them but the stock shocks, even the rubicon fox ones, leave something to be desired. All of the above mentioned shock companies make stock+ shocks. Take your pick.

Run the stockers or maybe add extensions for now. You may want to go bigger with your lift later, so I would wait and buy shocks then.

So on our shop JT we actually did not replace the shocks along with the leveling kit as it's not 100% necessary. If you're not really looking to gain any extra travel, and you're okay with the softer feel of the stock shocks, you have nothing to worry about! If you are looking for a little bit more performance or travel, you may want to look into something like the Fox 2.0 shocks for 0-1.5" of lift. Hope this helps!

Stay away from the Falcons...they are 100% garbage. I have them paired with my Clayton ride right kit and I'm about replace them with factory shocks because they ride so horrible
