Show me your rack

I am having a really hard time deciding on a rack for my Gladiator. I'm not doing a rooftop tent, I just want to be able to carry a 2 person kayak without taking up bed space. Apparently, you're not supposed to attach any racks to the freedom panels, so that limits the space without adding a bed rack. Any ideas?

I finally went with this, it works great: Erickson 800 lb. Universal Steel Truck Rack-07706 - The Home Depot

A friend of mine recently offered his old very nice expensive aluminum one to me as it didn't fit his new truck, but we haven't tried to see it will fit my truck yet. If it does I'll sell the steel one for cheap.

On the cheap

1 set of Yakima gutter mounts on main hard top, and Yakima bar and a free Chinese ladder rack chopped down (stuck up too high) repainted. This I bolted on the bed rails through existing factory holes in the bed. Yes, it is a PAIN, taking rear fenders off and fuel spout apart to get to bolt holes.

I also decided to put a hard cover with bike mounts creating a locked massive trunk space in the bed ( going to add drawer system and able to carry at least 4 bikes sideways in bed in Yakima bike trays and probably carry 4 kayaks easily.

A year later and I love it!!

Did you go half or full height? Considering this rack and trying to figure out which version I should go with.

I went full So I can carry kayaks on the top with bicycles on the side.
