What’s work?
What are you looking for in a travel trailer? I started with this home built trailer (not built by me) that worked great for my son and I. I only upgraded to the ModBug so that my wife will get out more with me. This one has room for storing a lot of gear in it and the tent is up off the ground but not super high. I added the 35 inch KO2’s so she has plenty of ground clearance to go wherever. I bought it off FB marketplace a few years ago, now she is back there for the next adventurer.

When I bought my ModBug, I made a trip to PA to buy it, there is a local to me dealer that had one for sale for 26K then lowered to 24K. I went to General RV in PA and bought mine for 15K. I saved over 8K for a day trip, and was able to use it immediately and get some more Badge of Honor trails done.

I’ve got a 5x10 utility trailer been thinking of something like that. Jumping Jack makes cool setups over in Utah but good hell, it’s 8K for a canvas tent on a utility trailer.

nuCamp T@B 400 Boondock we bought a couple months after getting the Jeep.
One of the wife's must haves if we got a camper was a bathroom in the camper, this has a nice wet bath.

We were 3160lbs on the trailer axle and about 500lbstongue on this trip, with both our bikes on the tongue rack (she's got an e-bike that's about 50lbs, my bike's a bit lighter)

Thats a beautiful trailer. I was so close to getting one but my other half is adamant we get a trailer with a dry bath. Looking at Geopros now.

Honestly, a wet bath isn't all that horrible. It's got a door, we generally don't use the shower to save on water, we use the campground showers (someday, we'll get the gumption to try boondocking) and with (in our model year) the flip up sink, it's not super-tight, either. Newer model years have a non-flip up sink that's smaller, but the overall look is nicer, I think.

Oh, I agree with you 100%. But she likens it to a hospital recovery room bathroom. :headbang:
And I learned long ago to choose my battles. If it means lugging around an extra 500lbs and a bigger trailer to keep her happy… Then so be it.

I'm using a Flagstaff A frame with a cargo deck. Not a rough road rig but it gets me to basecamp for mountain biking.
The low towing height makes a difference on the highway. About 2400# loaded and water tank full.

'21 Diesel Rubicon with the GDE Tune. Zero problems towing in flat/hot FL weather. I have the mopar trailer brake controller installed as well. It's lifted with the Clayton 2.5" overland lift, rides pretty much level.

Camper is the Coachmen Apex Ultra-lite 245BHS. It's 7.5ft wide instead of some of the wider 8 or 8.5ft and it comes in around 4,750 dry. It pulls great.

Cricket Trailer by Taxa. 1500 lbs dry. Had it for 10 years now, hundreds of trips including this one from VA to CO. Been a great set up.

Usually the toy is inside, but it maneuvers the trailer better in the backyard than my Gladiator.

The trailer is a 7x14 7k Mirage SideXSide. I've since installed widows on each side, plus in the man door, along with shelves in the front. Probably 4k pounds or so loaded up with the RZR.
