Hello everyone!

I was wondering if there is a way to simultaneously connect my phone (Galaxy Note 20 Ultra) to Uconnect via usb and Bluetooth at the same time. The reason being is that I would like to use wired uConnect for Android auto navigation on my infotainment screen and Bluetooth for the audio.

2022 Altitude with 7 inch uConnect

Thanks!

Why, you’ll get the audio through android auto as well, right?
Yeah for sure. Setup whatever your music player is in Android Auto and then select that from the Android Auto screen. For me it's Pandora.

Thanks for your replies. I use Treble and I haven't been successful. Rcott, I'll give that a try. The reason why I would like to use both simultaneously is so I can have Google maps on my head unit and music display on my phone. Also, I have found that I steering wheel controls for changing tracks don't seem to work when streaming via USB android auto. I also had to get a new phone since my OP. Not sure if that will make a difference. I think I'm going to go experiment now.

Sorry for my delayed response!

I have nothing to add other than Apple car play is leap years ahead of Google auto. I hate to say that because the boys in the house are die hard android users.

Ok, so I am in my Jeep trying it again with my new phone (Pixel 8a) and il still won't work (see attached picture for the message I get). The main reason I want to use Bluetooth for audio is that I retain my steering wheel track change buttons.

By the way the message is worded, it's the phone that won't allow the two different connections at the same time.

Steering wheel controls work with Android Auto. I don’t see why you’d need two connections to do the work of one. If yours don’t, you’ve got something wrong somewhere.

I’m not surprised it won’t let you connect the same device twice. That would be really awkward for the OS to handle.

Pixel 8 Pro and my steering wheel controls change tracks as expected. Something is amiss in your settings or other.

Are you playing music thru a streaming service or is it tracks stored on your phone?

CarPlay allows a split screen to where you still see map, but also music, and other widgets…

I have a 8a and used wired android auto. Usually have google maps and spotify running. All controls work on the wheel. Each have their own volume as well.

I just plug my Motorola in and go. Play my music and navigate at the same time. Almost splits screen. When I need to make a turn it just talks over the music.

You might also be able to display music info in gauge cluster with map going…

Thanks for all the input. My steering wheel controls won't change tracks when playing music with Treble app, but they do work for radio and Bluetooth. How do you do split screen?

I think the better question here is, if you play music through any other app via AA, do the controls work? We get that it works for the radio and for bluetooth, but I'm wondering if it's just this one app that has the problem, or if you've got a larger issue with Android Auto that should be considered.
