I’ve been using it for almost 20 years now. The past year they started de-contenting some very expensive packages—MLB And NFL notably. So you have to go to the very top tier. It’s ridiculously expensive now, considering most people listen to podcasts or streaming services anywhere. But if you’re into sports or news and live in spotty coverage areas, it’s worth it. Have to do the threaten to cancel thing every 6 months or so, which gets old.
And you know why they are charging more, right? It's because of the corrupt MLB and NFL organizations. They are holding cable and satellite companies hostage.
Sirius has to re-up with NFL to carry content every so often. It's a contract. When that contract is up NFL wants more more more........... Sirius has to pass it along.
Blame where blame belongs.
Same thing happens with cable companies and satellite TV - the content providers keep demanding more so the cable companies are stuck in the middle and subscribers complain that it's the fault of the cable company. They aren't faultless but the major reasons for prices are the corrupt NFL making their millions while their CEO and board make their millions - oh, but it's the fault of the cable company.
MLB and football are major money-makers.

I love the service, but I hate having to call in every single year and argue to get the price I know they'll give me. If they would just lock me in at that price, I'd pre-pay a 3 year subscription just to not have to deal with it.
Agre with this approach.

Used to enjoy Sirius for years, but like most everything these days, the on-air "personalities" seemed to increasingly inject their political views far too often. Buhbye.

Sales (in nice innocent Filipino lady accent): Hello Mr.###. We are calling to let you know your subscription on you Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator has ended and we need a new credit card to invoice your overcharge.
Me: ok, can you tell me how much the charge is for?
Sales: the charge today will be in the amount of $258.46. Would you please give me a new card number so I can processs this charge?
Me: wait, I’m paying $258 in overcharges for the Wrangler and Gladiator? When did the over charges start?
Sales: I’m sorry sir, the over charge is in the amount of $85.12 for both the wrangler and Gladiator. The renewal for premium subscription on the Wrangler is $173.34 for the year. Can you please give me a new credit card number so I can process these charges?
Me: wait so I will also be charged another $173.34 to renew the Gladiator? And when did you say the contract expired?
Sales: The contract expired March 8th and yes you will need to pay an additional $173.34 for a year of premium subscription for the Gladiator.
Me: Nevermind, I will just pay the $85 for the overage fee. I assume I will at least enjoy the rest of the month to April 8th.
Sales: hold on, let me talk to my manager about any special deals.….ok, I just spoke to my manager and we can give you the regular subscription for just $120 per vehicle and will lower you overage fee for both vehicles to $70.28.
Me: ok, so you are giving me a better price for the regular subscription? What’s the difference and when will the subscription term be over?
Sales: (something about MLB package and other things). Your term will end March 8, 2023. Can I get a credit card number so I can process these changes?
Me: (math and deal all smells fishy) This doesn’t seem like a deal at all. I will pay a lesser price for lesser service, be charged $70.28 for a month of overages and you will short change my new contract by one month. …
Me in my kindest Filipino voice: PLEASE CANCEL….

I ended up paying the $85 overage fee, let’s see If they turn off the subscription before April 8th.

Sorry for the rant. Shady XM….

I just go online and renew, don't have to call anyone. When I select Chat to cancel service, it pops up several discount offers to choose from. I'm paying $10 month for service for two vehicles and streaming.

They have been hammering me to add the Gladiator to my existing account and I won't do it.
I will let it expire when the free trial is over.
At the moment I paid $34.68 for 6 months on the wife's Ranger Right before I decided to get the gladiator. When the Gladiator free trial expires, I will stream using the Sirius App, CarPlay and account that is from the account with the Ranger on it and right before that one expires, go through the whole cancel until I get the deal I want game.

I don't listen to sports or talk radio, so I am not paying for that.

I usually just cancel online. I won’t renew next time around on my Jeep. DJ’s talk more on Sirius than a FM radio station. Then all the “commercials” about being commercial free is kind of ridiculous.

Never ever heard of an overage fee. Over what? Did customer service throw a doohickey in there when referring to the radio? LOL. I’ve always had payment upfront, never in arrears.

Amazing to deal with for the past 5 vehicles, ours combined. They always negotiate lower prices for just the music channels. And recently an amazing full package on the new wife car, at intro price for the full year. We love ours and I even upgraded (100.00 used - this forum) to the lower end radio with Sirius just to get it back. They always help with the lowest price for the music only package.

You can cancel online through the chat option. They tried haggling once, but I stood my ground and that was it. They do call every so often but I don't answer if I don't know the number.

I used to have a subscription to them years and years ago when I spent all day in a truck out in the oilfield, and it was worth it to have something to listen to besides country or tejano. But yeah, when I finally cancelled it, it took forever. Of course you can easily sign up online, but cancelling requires you to call, wait for the retention department, hear 10 sales pitches, and finally an hour later they cancel your account.

I still like the content, and I would happily pay up to $10 a month total for the highest tier plan for 2 vehicles. Anything more expensive than that isn't worth it to me.
I pay 99 a year. I just call and say I want to cancel and it works every time.

For me podcasts and streaming services both allowing downloading automatically along with huge phone storage have killed any reason to keep xm

Sound about right but they make it seem like $$120 for the year is $10/month. It’s actually 10.90/ month and they are charging me an extra $35.

I cancelled a credit card and they couldn’t automatically renew so I had 6 days of free XM radio. so I guess my subscription ran over and that theyhad to charge me, overage fees.

I had XM for awhile in my old truck but reception was spotty in Austin. No idea why, when I would call we'd go through the send the signal everything looks fine. Then it was well they're working on the transmitter tower etc. I said, well it's been this way for several months, they've been working on that for a long time then. Cancelled the subscription their response was ... if you don't cancel we'll give you an extra month free. My response, so I'll get a free month of shitty reception that cuts in and out no thanks?

I've always made sure the card number I gave them was expired or deactivated by renewal time if I even felt like dealing with them.
