Anybody know cost of the guardian feature vs just the xm? I do enjoy Satellite radio, but with my manual trans, the only feature i use Is the lock/unlock. It is convienient in the “did I remember to lock my truck” sense.

if it is Not overly expensive, being able to lock/unlock from my phone is nice piece of mind...

I think it’s around $250 a year. Way too much for me. My key fob works fine for remote start.

yeah, $250 is way too much for me as well. I’d consider it in the $50 per year range for those “just in case” circumstances.

I use the remote start a lot, living in a super-hot place. I use the lock and unlock here and there. Lock to double check if I go to bed and wonder, did I lock it? And unlock when leaving some place with my hands full of stuff, so I don't have to deal with anything to unlock it.

I have zero use for satellite radio or the help and SOS crap they package with the lock/unlock/start service. So I'm not sure if I will renew. On my previous JKs I had the Viper Smartstart system which was around $100/year and would do those functions. Sirius is known for giving you cheaper and cheaper options the more you hold out, so I'll push them for a deal in the last week and see what they say.

What we're trying to tell you is that it's the same company, if you think it MAY be worth it at a lesser price, haggle. If not, don't and get rid of it. Not sure what I'll do yet myself. Report back if you get a discount.
SiriusXM and SiriusXM Guardian aren't the same company.

SiriusXM Guardian is a branding for vehicles with Uconnect with telematics services and the SiriusXM part of the name is used under license for At&t telematics service, the same one that runs Mercedes M-BRACE, Onstar and several others.

They don't care if they keep Stellantis customers, otherwise they would improve their activations and customer service process. So much as mention that you think the service is overpriced and they send you to cancellations, who will cancel your service with no offer to do anything to keep you as a customer.

The OP got a better price because they took a lower service package, the lower service package is missing more than reservation booking and send to vehicle directions, its also missing stolen vehicle tracking and a couple of other things that you may need someday.

Honestly if I wasn't getting free service for the next 3 years because of me unleashing on them about their account set up mistake and the hell it has put me through since 2017 on 6 different vehicles, I wouldn't keep it because its a bad value proposition.

For the money, Onstar works better from an activations and connected services standpoint.

What is the lowest renewal rate that people are being offered? I also just received the "Guardian" remote service expiring letter. I don't use it much, other than the Send and Go feature. I have noticed that the Guardian remote start works much better than my limited distance fob remote start.

It’s my understanding it’s impossible to lock your key fob in the vehicle. Supposedly the computer can see it and it won’t let you lock the doors.
Besides this guy's way...
I feel very special that I found a way to make this happen. Coming back from a business trip I unlocked my Jeep with the proximity handle. I went to the bed that is covered with a hard tonneau cover and put all my luggage in and shut the tailgate. By the time I walked back to the door the auto lock feature had relocked everything. My fob was in my backpack in the bed. It was all locked up tight. After trying to get into my bed which i suspect I could have but I would have damaged my very expensive tonneau cover I stood contemplating how to un-@$#% myself. It actually took maybe 4 or 5 minutes before I remembered that I could unlock it with my phone. I was a little skeptical as I was in the airport garage but probably less than a minute later I was in my Jeep disabling the auto lock. Lol.
You can lock your fob in the cab: it will lock on the third try.

I just got an offer today to pay for 10 months and get 2 free. They didn't mention price, but I am guessing it would be around $200 based on what I've seen. I use the UConnect features a lot especially locking it if I don't know if I did. If I lock my keys inside accidently, I can open doors with phone (as long as I don't lock it in). I might pay $200 since I only pay Sirius XM $6 a month where most others are paying over $20. Save here, spend there......................

Mine expired in December and I get offers about twice per month with better offers each time. I got one last week for 50% off for the next 12 months.

For the most part on these when you get these offers you can call in to renew the service at the same price you paid previously. I used to have SiriusXM radio for a few years and every 5 months I would call in and ask if I could get the 5 months for $25 again, if not, I would ask them to cancel my account. They would try to offer me a few other "deals" (I think they have to) before they got back and told me they could do the 5 for $25 again. Just be prepared to actually cancel it if you start that game, just in case they aren't willing to go that low again.

Worth it just for me to tell Alexa Daily to get Betsy Hot and Bothered.

But I love my remote start and GPS tracking.

I'll wait fir my 50% offer then pull the trigger. That is unless you post up that they sent you a better offer before then 😉

My XM trial ran out some time ago, and my remote start (iPhone) still works. I thought they were separate?
