Sirius Guardian is run by AT&T and is on their network. It does not work via satellite. You still need your inReach. Also Guardian doesn't do any messaging at all. If you buy the premium version ($$$$) then you can call the help line...over the AT&T network, not satellite.
oh. Well thats lame. So the SOS if you get in a wreck wont work in non cell covered areas?? (Which is like 60% of my area). Whats the point then….

A friend of mine is a network manager for a cell carrier, and he says something like 90% of phones never leave coverage. For you and me, there are services like inReach and Spot. I use a Garmin 700i for wheeling, dirt biking, and boating. Most wheeling in AZ involves a bunch of time off cell coverage.

A friend was wheeling his Hummer long ago, and locked his keys in the car. He thought it was no big deal, and found a mountain top to call Onstar. But they couldn't see the vehicle, which was in a valley, and he also had assumed Onstar was satellite.

So I'm coming up quickly on a year of having my JT and I got my renewal email about SiriusXM Guardian. I haven't used the locking/unlocking, horn, any of that stuff. I guess it would be handy if I locked my keyfob in somehow. But has this system come in handy for anyone?!
N͟O͟‼ And at $25 a month renewal 👎👎 it won’t be

My XM trial ran out some time ago, and my remote start (iPhone) still works. I thought they were separate?
Remote start has nothing to do with the XM Guardian, perhaps on the phone but not on your key fob. MIne expired two weeks ago and it will not let me in the phone app anymore

They sent me an offer for $60 for 6 months a week before mine expired.

I have no interest in using the app (looked at it for all for 10 minutes), so I‘ll just let it expire when the time comes.

Well mine is expired now. They sent me an offer for 6 months for $60 but just for the Guardian and Security package (Remote package excluded). Now I get these annoying pop up windows reminding me to renew it. Anyone have any luck with haggling over the phone to get a better deal? At the end of the day, I can easily live without this service so the price needs to be much lower to entice me to renew.

Would you elaborate on “useful parts”? Was it one of their packages or were you able to pick “a-la-cart”?

I wanted all of the vehicle control and reporting, but not concierge, or the help thing. So remote start, locks, status, etc.

You can get the just security piece and they can track you vehicle if it gets stolen. Handy if you live in the wild west.

Just got off phone, $60/6 mos for full Guardian, then regular price or probably do the whole negotiate with 'em and threaten to cancel. Chose not to renew at least for the moment.

Hell, even the guy I called before her maybe 30 minutes ago didn't even give that offer. $129/yr is all he had to say.

But damnit, I then called to cancel the radio portion as well and didn't play hardball. Only took 1 or 2 price drops to have me do a year of the middle package for $86. Cheaper than going to a paid Pandora subscription at least, trims a lot of the fat of stations I skip over, and sure beats these last 6mos of $27/mo for platinum. Maybe next year.

$129 for a year beats $60 for six months then having to dick around with them again. I'd pay the $10 to just have the ongoing rate.
