Hi all - first diesel, first jeep, and I have no knowledge of what this is. It looks like it runs from an intercooler or similar.

Can someone educate me please, I tried searching the forum but genuinely have no idea what to search for? Just under 10k miles.

No smells outside, nothing abnormal, just happened to pop the hood today and saw it.

It is likely a bad seal in the charge tube. It's pushing pressurized air and oil past the seal, take it to jeep and try to get them to replace it under warranty.

Might just be a couple of oil drops from an oil change, when refilling oil. You will feels lost of power if that charge pipe leaks.

I’ll catch grief for this one….
catch can time? Pcv/ccv system will pull oil vapor- on any motor. This oil vapor+ egr system is turning your intake manifold into an awesomely gross situation…. Google diesel intake carbon buildup.
If your long term plan is to keep this, and you are not going to have the EGR shut off, catch can is a good idea. There is only one company that I know of that puts an extension cable for the sensor, relocating it to the catch can for no check engine light.

The price is some Bull…. 🤷‍♂️

My goal is to ultimately delete it and keep it for a long time. Won’t be touching that till the warranty is expired though.

Didn’t realize EOC made a catch can, thanks for the info.

Price might be some bull’s spity spit spit, but they are the only player in town at the moment it seems. I tried looking for a solution such as this and found all catch cans would cause a CEL indicator.

Shouldn't be too hard to make one of those for much less.

5 years 100k is a lot of build up in the intake. Cloned ECU and a reflash to have the EGR shut off might not be a bad idea….
