It doesn't look like the roof and doors come off, which is disappointing for something called Scout. Seems like in name only, with very few design cues from the original

While I was hoping for a newer "Scout", sort'a like something designed in the sprite of the original I/II, it's what I actually expected. Just another generic/modern SUV. Very boring, but to each their own.

In my state there is a 5k rebate for EVs under 45k, plus they are sold sales tax free (6.625% savings).

So in theory, if i could get my hands on an F150 lightning, it would be about 28.5k out the door after federal tax credits. Otherwise known as about half the price of my gladiator. Likewide the MachE is priced at 44995, so 33.5k.

Hell, i could buy a nissan leaf brand new for 17k.

The problem isn't that EVs are too expensive, it's that the cheap ones are either incredibly hard to find or ugly

Sad actually. Just like Kia being able to steal the K5 nameplate which is iconic to the full-size square body body blazer and Jimmy until 1991.

Can't even forgive Chevy for letting some POS small SUV taking over the Blazer nameplate unlike Ford reserving the Bronco name and bringing it back in all its glory (no not the sport, but the real full-size version)
