Take the advice from Punk'n. I don't purchase extended warranties. I plan to keep this Glad so I decided to do so. I checked numerous local dealers as well as Mopar Direct. Tom beat all prices by a fair bit and I made the purchase from him. Highly recommend Tom.

If you get one, only get the mopar extended warranty not some third party dealer bs that just makes them money. And if the dealer says there in house warranty is the only one they sell you can call mopar and they usually have deals for them

I'm finishing my purchase this week and wanted thoughts from others on extended warranty options and whether they're worth it on a Gladiator. I typically don't buy them on anything, but the two I've had on cars have paid for themselves several times over (oddly, when I haven't bought one the car hasn't needed one).

It's really just the electronics that usually go wrong and become a nightmare, but with the Gladiator I'm not sure what, if any, issues I should consider on this front.

I don't plan on modding a ton on the truck but I do plan on adding a bed cover and other irrelevant to a warranty things. If I hit some business goals and the tuners fix the 2022 Pentastar tuning issues I might someday supercharge this thing as the Mojave screams for it but I'm sure that would wreck any chance of warranty claim on the drivetrain. That said, that's a maybe and not anytime soon.

I know this is a contentious topic, but if certain problems are common (like the 8.4" screen or something like that) it might be worth it long-term. Thoughts?

Its a Jeep, with Dodge quality electronics. i would 100% recommend the extended warranty. I had a Ridgeline before my Jeep and do carpentry work on my days off. I had the tire replacement coverage and used it to replace 6 tires in 4 years because of all the jag-offs who drop nails and screws in the HD parking lots. paid for itself after the 2nd tire. So now i swear by them - especially with the aftermarket AT tires. The warranty is transferrable too if you sell so you can recover some money too if that happens.

I purchased mine separate about a month after purchase. I was able to work a deal with a guy at a Michigan dealership. I'm in Texas, 80,000K miles, 8 years for a great price. I only drive about 7K a year working from home, so this warranty is well worth it. I'll see if I can find the guys name, Hayes Jeep dealership in Kalamazoo . I can't seem to find the guys name.

I purchased the extended warranty the time of purchase. I also had the dealer install 2.5" EVO lift, 37" tires and rims, track bars, and Tazer. I had them document that all work and parts were included in all current and extended warranty coverage. Generally don't do extended warranties but feel I got a good overall deal on this one.

Its your choice, but these repairs now are so expensive, Here's my fleet:
2011 Yukon Denali (ext warranty GMEPP Cost 2200) - Repairs Torque Converter (1800), Heated Seat (695), Transfer case seals (600), Interior heater blower motor (1200). Verdict -saved money
2013 RAM 1500 (ext warranty GWC ~2000) - Repairs, Front upper/lower control arms (1500), Leaking differential seal (1800 - they require the gears to come out), air suspension compress/valve body (1700). - Verdict Saved Money
2017 Chevy SS (~1600 ) - used none of it.

So, spent $5800,. $9300 in repairs... RAM and SS still under warranty...

So, yes I bought it on the jeep at time of purchase (used the above Michigan dealer as quote for my local dealer). One bad repair is easily 1500-2000, if its an expensive part and/or labor intentsive... I heard that Jeeps have problems...lol.

OP, I went with Mechanical Breakdown Insurance with Geico. Only available when you buy new and within a certain mileage but it covers just about every non-wear/tear item (tires breaks fluids etc). It's about $10/mo so $120/yr or $1200 over 10 years.

I did the same, 7yr/100k. Way cheaper than the dealer at $2800 for 7yr/75k.

I asked dealer if I could extend after the 3yr factory, “It’ll be more expensive!”, he lost me after the strong arm tactics. He wasn’t happy.

Told me he wasn’t sure they accepted GEICO. I asked if the money wasn’t green enough ?

I was a GM service advisor until a couple of years ago. We sold and took Fidelity by JMA Group and it was an excellent warranty plan.
And yes, I do agree with you. Some of those a/m warrantys were just awefull, especially the ones purchased thru the internet.
You all could ask about Fidelity when you call your dealers that are listed here.
Last I knew, Fidelity starts at the buy date unlike Mopar that starts at the in service date.

From the repair end being body or service I can tell you they were aweful. Boned us on the labor and parts every time. Worse than all the other insurances.

I noticed some of the Chrysler warranty sites talk about only warrantying a MOPAR lift installed by a dealer.

Anyone know if they mean the whole extended warranty is void with a non MOPAR lift installed or what?

I have been wondering if the extended warranty is worth it if I do a bunch of mods so I asked Tom for the contract language around warranty vs modifications and this is what he sent...

FYI-Without the lift coverage, here is the contract language in part.....

THE PLAN WILL NOT COVER, OR APPLY TO LOSS OR EXPENSE RESULTING FROM:

• Repairs due to any alterations or modifications to the Vehicle not approved or recommended by the manufacturer, including but not limited to: (a) failure of any custom or add-on/aftermarket part (unless listed as a specific covered part); (b) emissions and/or exhaust systems modifications; engine modifications, transmission modifications, and/or drive axle modifications, which includes any performance modifications; (c) oversized/undersized tires; (d) a suspension modifications; (e) aftermarket lift kits; (f) Mopar lift kits (unless you have purchased this coverage as shown on the first page);

• Lift kits that exceed four (4) inches unless you have purchased Mopar Lift Kit Coverage as shown on the first page; repairs to covered components that are the direct result of the failure of a lift kit that exceeds four (4) inches unless you have purchased Mopar Lift Kit coverage as shown on the first page;

• Repairs to covered components that are the direct result of the failure of alterations or modifications not recommended by the manufacturer;

• Repairs to a covered component caused by the failure of a non-covered component and/or an aftermarket installation not performed by a Dealer, or any outside installation of "salvage or junk" components in conjunction with an insurance or damage claim. All part installations to satisfy such claims must be with new or factory-authorized remanufactured components and parts;
