I believe someone over on the JL site bought a fully submerged JLU. Started documenting the process. Not sure if it ever got finished. I believe the guy was involved in auto electronics so it wasn't a big stretch for him to take it on.
I followed that thread, he finished it and has it driving now I believe no trouble lights or anything

I know this dealer, I personally have never delt with them but a buddy of mine has bought a Hummer and Audi from them with salvaged titles , not sure what the issue with the Hummer was but the Audi had flood damage but you couldn't see it and it never gave any trouble. The Hummer on the hand after about 3yrs of driving it started having some issues but it was already older when he bought it from them and it had around 40,000 miles on it. The Audi was like a 2019 model and he just sold it for a little more than he paid for it even with a salvaged title.
On their web page linked to earlier in this thread they describe what they do to water damaged vehicles. It seems to be pretty comprehensive.

If they actually do all those things, it will go a long way towards reducing the incidences of problems.

My friend who bought the water damaged Jetta had a number of problems 2-3 years after he bought it with electrical connectors and components corroding from water that was trapped inside during the submersion.

One other factor has to do with the details of the submersion. Are we talking about 16 inches of fresh water coming over the door sill and soaking the interior? Or are we talking about 4 feet of salty sea water soaking everything below the door handle??

Too many variables with this sale. Some people will bid and simply not pay. Some sellers will have ghost accounts to place bids on items to run up the price.

It says it came from AZ. Must have been caught in a flash flood. I'd say that's one of the better "flooded vehicle" scenarios. Especially since it probably had time to bake in 115 degrees and dry everything out.

And nobody even thought to pop the floor drain plugs

Man i'm kicking myself for passing up that Gobi 2020 Mojave I could have gotten for $45k back in 9/2020

All because of a soft top

There is far too much electronics in these to deal with a flood recovery
