What is the trick to disconnecting the gray and black fog light connector attached to the frame? It's way different than my 2018 JLUR.

I pulled out the yellow tab on top and then tried to pull the sections apart. No go. I could not feel
any other tabs. Nothing intuitive - which is so typical of the connectors on our vehicles. Thanks

The gray part slides upward as you pull the ends of the cable apart.
Well that was EZ. Got it. Thank you very much for sharing that, I never would have figured out that trick. That's a great example of what makes this such a great forum, the willingness to share knowledge and help out others. Danke, Gracias, Thank you.

PS, it is a yellow tab, it looked white in the light earlier when I posted this.

I had no problems pulling these connectors apart. I’m now struggling getting them re connected. Just ain’t happening no matter what I try. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You have to press the two halves together and squeeze the retaining clip into the side at the same time. One motion.

Could you please elaborate in a little more detail please? Which is the retaining clip? And which two halves to squeeze?

That gray piece in the photo slides upward, as it is oriented in the picture, as you pull the two halves apart. In order to put them back together, that gray part has to be slid upward all the way, line up the two plugs, then slide the gray part downward as you press the two halves together.

So when you say “press the two halves together” you mean the male plug from the harness attached to the frame and the female plug from the wiring harness attached to the 2 fogs?

Yes. The male and the female parts need to be pushed together at the same time that you are sliding the gray piece back into the position that it is in in that picture. It may be easier if you pull the part connected to the frame off the frame so both ends are loose.

I can’t thank you enough! Had no idea that gray piece moved.
