Im having an issue with the sound on my JT. When I play music wireless everything sounds perfect but when I connect straight from the phone (wire) the speakers sound like they cracked and really bad. I used different cables and still the same. Now I dont know if its the speakers or the connection on the dash. Any suggestions??

Maybe I am showing by ignorance but why would you be playing music from a phone when you have a radio? Is there an issue with the radio not working properly? The JT seemed pretty simple to me with actual knobs for volume and changing channels. By comparison, my wife's BMW X3 is all touchscreen and it's a pain to figure out how to manually change stations instead of using the presets.

I stream music from my phone all the time. No commercials. No songs I don't like. Radio in my area sketchy. Sirius drops out going through thick tree cover or blocked by mountains.

Knowing which phone you have and what type of cable connection will help. There were issue with some of the iPhone's a couple years ago being very finicky with some USB-A to Lightening cables. No matter what you are using, try a different cable first.

Got it. I didn't realize you were in a remote area.

With no answers to the questions above, here's my experience:
Streaming direct from a music app sounds fine. Streaming from a music app through Android Auto sounds like crap.
So if plugging it in is triggering Android Auto to take over...

Yep, that was why I asked what kind of cable he was using. Regular audio cable should sound good. USBC cable will sound like crap. Especially since all USBC cables are not created equal.
