New to the Gladiator but not to Jeeps. I just traded in my 2020 Wrangler JL Freedom for a 2021 Gladiator Willys. It has been lifted and has 35's on it. At 55 mph, the speedo is off 5 MPH (showing 55 but running 60). At 70, it is off 7 MPH. I checked this with Waze and another map application. On my Wrangler, I did upgrade the tires but it was not enough of a change that I felt the need to address it. This is much different.
I really do not want to invest in a Tazer or JScan nor do I want to worry about setting up and unplugging either if I take it back to the dealer. My question is, If I do take it in to the dealer, can they update the system to get the speedometer displaying the correct MPH or is that something specific to a Tazer? I know there are things a Tazer can do that the dealer can't/won't do (such as disable Auto Stop Start).
Appreciate the help.

Yes, and it'll probably cost the same as a Tazer. Once you use the Tazer for changing wheel size or the Jscan, it can be removed and the settings saved in the system.

At one point he had a JScan (IIRC) that he'd loan out. All you had to do was buy the license.
Worth looking into...

Jscan is the cheapest and easiest way to fix it. Much less than a Tazer or a trip to the dealer.

You cannot disable the Auto Stop Start system. There are multiple ways to keep it from turning the engine off, but it cannot be removed, disabled, or disconnected.

Dealers will now sell a "service" where they will reprogram the tire size for you, AND add it to your VIN record in DealerConnect so if they ever flash/reprogram your PCM the tire size won't get set back to the factory defaults. Last I checked, it was something like $100.

JScan with an OBD adapter is about the same, and you can then do even more. Disabling Auto Stop/Start is a Tazer function that requires the Tazer to be plugged in all the time. Certain Tazer features update the computer (like JScan would do) and you can then unplug it (like setting the tire size) others are "live" features that require the Tazer to be plugged in.

jscan, cheap OBDII BT adapter, security cable, that's it and it would be cheaper than a dealer. PLUS, you'd have it all for any diagnostics or future changes.
Under 100 bucks for everything you need.

If you were closer, I'd say bring it over and I'd do it with AlfaOBD - it's not connected to any VIN or vehicle.

He must have gone the multi-license route as I had to buy a new license when I traded trucks. I can't use it on my 2020 if I still had my 2020.

People Work?
ECRI will do it for way less than the Tazer as well.
Easy install and marries to a mobile app.

Jscan is probably the cheapest and easiest option to do what you want to do. There is no un-marrying needed or problems with the dealership unless you have module software update that takes it back to the "as built" config but then you just use the Jscan to reconfigure again as needed.

I log the changes I make.......... it's just easier.
I believe AlfaOBD actually keeps track of changes you made if you save the logs.

That'll work!
And you have it anywhere you can access your drive account.

Sounds like JScan is the best route for me.

Would any of you JScan users have part numbers or links to the ODBII module and cable you used? Is the cable just an extention from the port to the module?

I understand there may be certain modules that work "better" with JScan than others.

Any other helpful hints would be much appreciated as well.
