Mine only has the stock 7”. I think it’s plenty nice and sharp looking screen. I actually was pleasantly surprised how much nicer the inside was vs a sport. Interior seems a little nicer and brighter with the led lights inside. For me, I didn’t mind either trim, it was just the price that swayed my decision.

Is the stock audio vs premium really that much of a difference in sound?

Funny. I have a max tow and I haven't towed anything yet. Until I get a brake controller, it doesn't matter what model I got. Almost wish now I would have gotten a Rubicon for the looks.

You can always wait it out. I see that new inventory will be tricking in soon. Even Auto Nation has a bunch of coming soon and even Mojave models! From the dealers I spoke to they are hoping to be close to fully stocked around August. Then come the 2021 and they'll have more Inventory than they can handle. Don't let them pressure you. Don't fight over the leftovers!. July 4th sales are Typically good. Labor day in September when. They'll for sure have more. Then there is always Christmas end of year sales. Patience will reward you. I think I am I the same boat. If we started at the beginning of Covid-19 coronavirus then maybe we woulda had a great deal. At this point... don't fight over leftovers! . I was offered in writing a decent sport with Mac tow 7inch screen cold weather group for about 11% off MSRP. I walked. I have now seen Rubicons in the mid to high 40's so I am considering making the jump . I'm closing this month or waiting on the bigger sales events. At the end of the day you are making the payments not the salesman. There is always a better deal. Ok that was a rant
Hey rant or not I like it! I'm going to take your advice and wait it out. At this point they do have the upper hand but like you said inventories going to start rolling in they going to want to make some deals

Hey I think I'm in the same boat. I have been researching gladiators for a little over a week and found a build I like, with a few options I could take or leave.

Looking at the Sport S with 24S, Popular Equipment Package, and Automatic. I was on the fence with the Traclok - not a deal breaker. Figured that would be easy enough to find. I really like the gator and sting grey.

I went looking at the local dealership and they had very few options, all white/black. Told me they could find it at another dealer and sure enough it didn't take long.

I tried to find some myself and had to branch out to neighboring states just to find 2-3 within a 3hr drive.

They will not budge off the Employee Pricing. I feel like I'm not in a great position to bargain right now. I thought with low inventory they would be more willing to work with me, since it would be harder to meet quotas with few models on the lot.

Am I just being unreasonable in thinking I could do better than EP? It's about $3200 off MSRP but really I want double that. I would like the price to drop from ~43k to 37k.

Do you guys think I would just be better off forgetting about it for a month or two? It's been a rollercoaster finding what I want and then realizing it barely exists at the moment.

This is a common misconception. The reality is the dealers are not going to hit any volume bonus so they cannot afford to take looser deals. The Gladiator is a popular vehicle, so demand is high, meanwhile with the factories shut down, inventory is extremely limited. This actually gives the dealer the leverage to hold out for a price they want, if you won't pay it, the next guy probably will.

Employee pricing is pretty much a scam. There is a formula behind FCA pricing, the lowest these dealers can go is 7% off invoice. Employee pricing is a gimic to confuse buyers into thinking they are getting the best deal possible while the actual "employee price" never reaches the full 7% off invoice amount. You are much better off just going in asking for 7% off invoice and settling for 6%.

The conception of inflation is that prices only increase. This is very much true in the car industry. Even if/when inventory is restored, over time the price will increase regardless. A new vehicle bought in the future will always be more expensive then a new vehicle bought now.

What you need to focus on is rebates and incentives, this is the most effective way to reduce the price of the vehicle. For example, Overland carries much better incentives this month then Sport, to the point where I don't understand why you would be shopping for a Sport when the Overland is the same price.

Thanks for the info, but I am not really sure how to process the advice.

I certainly see a lot of Jeeps, but the Gladiator is virtually non-existent in my area and every other vehicle is a pickup. I would say I see 10 Wranglers & 10 Cherokees for every Gladiator I see, but that would require me seeing one on a regular basis. The dealer I visited had 70 Cherokees, 70 Grand Cherokees, but under a dozen Gladiators. I would love to attribute that to demand, but I think anyone on this forum may be a bit biased as to the popularity. :D I checked their inventory again today, and they added a dozen so maybe demand has picked up recently... but to my chagrin they didn't order a single one in gator or sting gray.

My buddy works at a nearby Toyota Dealership and kept telling me they sell vehicles $10k off invoice. That sounded like a lot to me, and I concede that may just be a Toyota thing. This is my first time dealing with FCA dealerships. I also noticed an extreme lack of inventory on their lot too, so I guess this is just probably a bad time to be picky no matter what you are looking for.

6% off invoice doesn't really sound like a great deal, especially given the advertised EP (which in my case was 7.7% off MSRP, close to 6% invoice) but I know we aren't talking Honda Accords.

I don't really feel like they are trying to make a sale, but they have a $200 doc fee that sort of makes up for the lack of wiggle room compared to others I've been emailing.

Sorry for the long winded first couple posts. I'm excited but think I need to just wait until they have more options I like.

The overlands they have are all black and white, two of the colors I like least. They are also all loaded with options I don't really want to pay for, the cheapest one they have on the lot is $5k over the Sport S I like.

I think if we are talking about waiting a few months for inventory to increase for better options, I don't think we have to worry about inflation in such a short amount of time. Some of the lemon stories I am reading in this forum are making me reconsider buying.

I found one that has the Trailer tow Package NOT Max tow. So does this get 6000lbs capability or 4500lbs? The jeep.com website is so frustrating Because all they do it promote the Max tow numbers. Hard to find for example a regular sport or sport s with the "trailer toe package". Any one know for sure ? I am not liking how deceptive they are being.

Update on Inventory. A sales rep was super happy to text me that more inventory had arrived....a gobi colored sport . Just 1 . Yep. ONE. Says a blue one is coming in 30 days . Lots of dealers are putting factory pictures with "coming soon" even the Mojave is listed haha. Reserve . Don't even test drive! Not!

Same here in central Texas all the way to Houston. But I've seen some huge discounts on fully loaded black rubicons. Made me reconsider a black vehicle. It will get hot and scratched but there's always wraps and paint jobs? One black Rubicon was 9k off MSRP from around 58k to 49k. The white with black fenders I think is a cool look. But maybe it's better to wait and pick what you really want . I think there will be a flood of inventory once this Covid-19 settles. I was wanting to close by end of month but as another poster pointed out maybe employee pricing isn't that great. Also they said last month that it expired 6/1 now it's been extended to 6/30. Won't be surprised if they extended through July 4th or bring it back later this year as a huge promo"employee pricing is back!"

Just annoyed about the endless amount of bad option combos. I found a decent max tow but with crap I don't want. Heated seats. I'd rather have the premium Audio. I found premium Audio but not max tow. The overlands are way to expensive just for colored fenders and colored hardtop bit I actually like the black fenders on some colors. Might as well pay for a Rubicon at that point. If I can get max tow with the 8.4 premium Audio that'd be great! These dealers seem to be missing the ball here when optioning out these gladiators! Test drive almost a perfect Rubicon then no aux switches and tiny rebate , only 2 colors .

Yeah I don't want to make you miss out on a good deal. But the lack of inventory and choices does really suck. I'm considering waiting until September or new years. They only have black and white ones here with crap option combos. Also if I'm paying 40-50k for a vehicle I want something that I actually want! Kinda sucks to pay 45k and get the basic crap audio system. Jeep could have made this simple. 5inch screen or 8.4! Either stripped down or up. This middle size that doesn't even upgrade the sound is silly. Plus when backing up the camera loses a couple inches on the sides

Hey that's about what I am seeing but I talked down a sport Mac tow silver with heated seats 7 inch screen auto for around 39k, MSRP about 46. So about 7k off MSRP. Got a few other quotes. It was not what I wanted so I walked off. They called back and said another $100 off. I said no. It is hard for me to tell you without knowing the options on it.

What other options you want? If I was able to get 6-8k off MSRP now I bet you could push a little more. It just wasn't the options combo for me. Show us a window sticker. Gobi is cool. I liked it but a little too much military dessert storm for me but still looks good ! Good luck! And Don't let them get the best of you!

It is a crap price. Try getting about 15% off MSRP to start
