Checking now…

Thanks.
It must be that mine is a business account. My only options are business at my address, mobility, or maritime. I’ll try with a different email address when I get a minute. Thanks for the heads up.

I didn't see the $30 a month plan anywhere for a standalone plan. All references showed in addition to home plan. The $50 plan doesn't seem to care about home.

I see the Mini Roam option for $50 and it appears to not require another service or home service. That isn't bad if you are going to use it frequently enough IMO. I may be a cheapskate, but I am wavering over the $600 price. I probably won't use it frequently enough to justify it but would love to have it those few times a year I really want the capability.

Im in the same boat right now. I have a trip across the US this summer and really want it for that but $600 for one trip seems a bit steep on top off all my other stuff. I have LTE in the truck but I know there will be places that is needed. Still looking at budget myself.

Exactly! I haven't gone with a cell booster because I don't think I would get enough benefit from it. So many places I go have zero cell signal so there is nothing to boost. I have a Zoleo for emergencies and for status updates back home. Having internet access would be great and there is a slight chance yet that I will spring for it but I think it is going to take something more than a couple of overland trips to justify it. Wish I could go more frequently, that just hasn't panned out. I need a government grant or sponsor to fund adventures lol.

FYI - I was activating mine for the first time last night and saw the Starlink USB-C Cable (15 ft) is now available on the website. I ordered one.

Someone 3D printed a mount to power the mini with a cordless drill battery. Pretty neat!

Thanks to all for sharing.

Am interest to get a mobile starlink for my off roading / camping trips.

Would appreciate if folks can share updates. Plus pics of where you mounted your Starlink if on a camper top. Or do you keep it. And lay it out at a location without tree blockage when u get to the campsites.

Thanks in advance.

FWIW the gen 3 (currently $349) can now use the $50 roam plan. Trio makes a 12v power supply ($90) to power it from your vehicle. Just ordered a Gen 3. I need a bed rack to mount it to now haha

I made a super easy mount for mine that just attaches to cross bars. It’s completely universal. It maybe cost $10. Just aluminum angle iron, black paint, some t bolts of your rack uses those, and a drill. It looks seamless.

Any pics of how it attaches to the dish?

Yes, for my solution, you need cross bars, but the high performance panel actually provides a water tight method to mount directly to the roof. I just couldn’t drill the roof. Some might be less ocd than me.

The flat high performance panel comes with a wedge mount with 4 mounting holes. I attached it to the two pieces of angle iron, and used t bolts to attach the angle iron to the cross bars at my chosen bar spacing.

Here’s an image I found online of the wedge mount. It should clear

it up hopefully.

There are holes in the bottom that I used to attach to the angle iron. Obscured by the “stuff bags”.
