Startup -and now turn off issues

Yesterday I tried turning on my 20 Sport and I noticed the brake pedal was stiff and that the engine wouldn’t crank. I heard a click and that was that. I get a check engine light on and some error codes I looked up with my Taser.

Fast forward to today, I try clearing some codes with the taser and now the truck won’t turn off - saying the vehicle isn’t in park but I also see on the dash to press the brake and button to start.

I unmarried/removed the taser and still the same issue. This really blows butat least it’s stuck in my garage.

Both of my old JKUs had a terrible problem where the cable would get detached from the shifter handle. That hasnt happened in either my JLU or my JT but I suppose its still possible depending on how much they reengineered that piece. You should be able to peel up one side of the center console and see underneath if it came off or not.

Likely not your issue but worth a check. Otherwise I would guess you just need a pcm flash, can it be done mobile idk.

Sorry for the delay, had a buncha personal stuff come up. But yes this was “fixed” at the dealer.

They informed it was an issue with the main/aux batteries not allowing the engine to turn over. However they also told me that since the main battery wasn’t the original battery meant for the gladiator it wasn’t going to be covered.

Thing is the battery i had in there came with the truck (I bought from a different dealer) and complained that I got the truck like that and didn’t replace the battery at any time. I ended up calling Chrysler Fiat last week and got a case# for it.

Check if you have a dealer installed security/tracking device. They splice into your factory harness and cause all kinds of problems.

How did batterys prevent truck from turning off? Doesn’t seem like the solution explains the problem.
