Dude Jeep mailed us all a letter saying our transmission may spontaneously explode at any moment. The recall has been in affect since like 2019 or 2020 and Jeep hasn't fixed the issue and continued selling at inflated prices. The issue initially came up on the JK, a completely different model!!
Again, I know this is frustrating. Again, I’m not discrediting the issue either. I’m just saying that referring to people as fanboys for wanting proof, makes you sound, “silly” with your argument.

I am a fan of manuals, hopefully Jeep figures out a real fix.

Some work arounds....
First determine if your clutch is operating properly when in gear and your foot is off the clutch. If it is not slipping at all in this configuration, then, it will not explode in this configuation. Next, always get the clutch out as fast as possible with as little rpm as possible in every gear. This will avoid any additional heat on the clutch and avoid any explosion. I actually always drive like this with all my stick shift vehicles because I do not want to pay for replacing a clutch - which wears out as you slip it... Treat the clutch like this and it will last a long, long time. I am currently at 56K miles with 37s and 5:13 gears and the clutch is perfect. Eventually, Jeep will probably give us a new clutch, but, it is also important that you stay happy in the meantime. Note: I have another vehicle with 230K miles with the stock clutch.
Note: while 4wheeling, use low lock, and get the clutch out fast. Tap the gas pedal quickly without depressing it and this will allow you to go much slower without bucking and not using the clutch. This technique also works great on the road in 1st gear while in traffic.

Something to remember for clutch longevity.

1) the clutch doesn't wear when the pedal is all the way out.
2) the clutch doesn't wear when the pedal is all the way in.
3) Everything in between, the clutch is wearing.

Once a clutch begins to slip with the pedal all the way out, there is no recovery. The slipping creates heat and wear which makes it slip more, which creates more heat and wear and . . . . .

You put less stress on the clutch by using a lower gear and higher revs than you do in a higher gear using lower revs, for a given situation.

Remember the clutches are impacted by the torque the engine is putting out. By using a lower gear you can achieve the same acceleration by revving the engine more and asking it to put out less torque. (Power= torque x RPM).

Jeep's warranty does not cover this damage as they say the clutch is a wear item
Jeep has a 1 year 12k clutch warranty. Jeep is not alone in considering the clutch a wear item as every manufacturer of manuals does the exact same.
a non American company
Man you lost me on this one. And for the record at this point Stellantis is more Dutch than Italian. Hell it's more French than Italian to my knowledge as well. PSA was bigger than the F in FCA prior to Stellantis forming.
Insurance companies will soon stop covering manual Gladiators
this sounds like absolute conspiracy nut garbage and I can't find a single example in history of any car insurance company dropping coverage because of recalls. You're making shit up and fear mongering.
This affects all JK wranglers
Oh does it now?

It could be very possible there are 68 shitty manual transmission drivers.
This was my first instinct too. But I stepped back and took a look at the facts:

1. The fact that I'm having no problems doesn't mean others are unquestionably responsible for their problems.
2. The wrangler and gladiator are not the only vehicles currently on sale that would be likely to attract bad manual drivers. No other manual has an open clutch recall. It's hard to blame this all on bad drivers when ever manual vehicle in production has bad drivers and they aren't all stop-saled.
3. HSA was a bit of a problem for me when I first bought this truck. A little over assist-y with the brakes. I have to imagine the average driver would be unlikely to turn that feature off and I can imagine driving in such a way as to defeat the grabbiness would be likely to cause some extra slip.
4. The clutch pedal is ridiculously light. I don't mind it, it's not a problem when you're used to it, but there is no foot feedback. I test drove a 124, miata, challenger, and camaro back to back and when I hopped back in my gladiator I thought my fun pedal had given up the ghost until I reminded myself it always feels like I'm stepping on a pedal attached to a wet piece of spaghetti.

So could it be there are 68 "people of the land" out there ruining it for the rest of us? Unlikely. They'd be ruining mustangs and challengers just as often.

Warning to all considering the 6MT. There have have been multiple recalls on it due to the clutch disc exploding and then causing shrapnel to fly out from the bell housing and damage other components. This can cause a catastrophic fire or permanently disable the electrical system. Jeep's warranty does not cover this damage as they say the clutch is a wear item. Outside of lemon law you will be on your own for any repairs. Your factory warranty has no vehicle replacement cost warranty and is merely interpreted by Stellantis corporate, a non American company, to fit their needs. Jeep Cares has no say in the matter. Insurance companies will soon stop covering manual Gladiators due to the amount of fires. See the multiple Jeep recalls or Jeep Clutch Recall FB group. This affects all JK wranglers and all Gladiators. You have been warned.
Go find any Stellantis markings on your vehicle and not FCA, an American company. Lol

I've been without a truck for 7 months. Forum replies are full of haters. Made realize the Jeep culture is based on how many dollars you spend on your product to promote a brand that cloaks itself in patriotism while being owned by Italians. The same Italians who supported facism and killed real patriots in the great war I will remind you.

You may live in a land of copium, hating those who tell the truth, but the truth will come out. Jeep builds crap product, over charges for crap, gives crap service. Don't spend 70k on a Jeep, don't spend $5 on one. Buy American not Italian. Support democracy not facism.
I am actually surprised by the build quality of my Gladiator. I paid 10% below MSRP for it and feel that I got a fair deal. I love the "old school " aspects of it such as the solid axles front and as well as an actual lever to shift into 4WD. Even the newer tech is great, such as the Uconnect and the Alpine stereo. I honestly feel that it is a good value for the price I paid. In fact, my wife likes the Gladiator so much that she bought a '23 JLU Rubicon for herself. I have driven Chevy pickups since high school so the move to a Jeep was a big leap of faith especially since I have always had the mindset that that any Chrysler product was a pile of shit. No trips back to the dealer for mechanical issues so far. Time will tell.

Psst. If you have a diesel, the entire drivetrain is made in Italy.

What‘a the Italian equivalent of ‘Mercia?

You made me double check the window sticker on my diesel JT.

At this point, the JT sounds like a 5th generation American trying to explain their heritage by percents. All I see is a classic American brand that has had a global economy influence it over the years while honesty still remaining true to its roots.

So I guess it's just the engine. With a German transmission.

Now imagine telling the original Willy’s wheeler designers that the Ally’s would win the war but by 2023 their design would evolve to have a drivetrain combination Iike that…

I'm sure they would be fine if you also explained that after the war, Germany has stood shoulder to shoulder with us defending against Communism and that German industry is the greatest in Europe and is vital to the defense of Europe. All of Europe.

Gladiator was finally made running again in Early May; Failure occurred in late October. Everything was covered under warranty. The experience was horrible and gave me a ton of grief. I sold to Carmax for 35k, which was more than I paid for it, shortly after getting it back.
