I hate to bring up the topic again of lousy steering, but it drives me nuts.
I had my steering gear replaced a few months back. It's far from perfect. I still have to keeping correcting while driving. Just not quite as bad. I'm fed up with it.
What do I look for to tell if it was actually done? It's so annoying!
ANYONE HAVE ANY OTHER IDEAS OR SUGGESTIONS?

IIRC the new steering box is iron and the old one was aluminum, so in theory you can take a magnet to it to see if they actually replaced it

Original was bare aluminum. New one is black painted steel. I have a a JL friend whose new box had sector shaft play. He adjusted the preload (nut/screw on top) and it improved.
