It will be interesting to see what aftermarket parts companies are REALLY American-made. A sudden increase in their prices would indicate that they are importing their products.
Not even that, they could be American made but if raw materials are imported that will jack up the price.

I try to buy US made tires but even those are subject to price hikes because we don’t produce the rubber here.

Not to mention if all the imported stuff doubles in price to say $400, the American companies raise their prices to $395 just because they can.

Exactly. "American made" is largely a quaint fallacy thrown around to appease brain dead xenophobic populists. Maybe it's made by some american hands with imported materials? Is that "american made"?

That sucks for the workers. I work in manufacturing as well and Iam optimistic we can begin to right this ship but that won't come without some hard times unfortunately.

So that makes it all ok? Ahhhh so it's like.....free handouts! No incentive to work anyway, right? Get paid for nothing! I think a certain demographic calls this "welfare" and they're strictly against it. Will these people be paying taxes from their alleged "under the table" work?

Make this actually make sense.
I'm just finding out that a lot of people stayed home during COVID. A guy I work with drew over $1200 a week for two years on unemployment. I worked every day, in the office. I must be stupid. I want my COVID vacation damnit!

Yep. In my state, all you had to do was claim that you were financially impacted by the lockdowns to collect the $600 per week. I didn't do it because I felt I would have been freeloading even though I qualified. In hindsight, I was the fool not to claim it. I would have received a couple years worth of $600 per week.
