Looked through all the pages. Does the AEV fit a stock Mojave with the 2” aev leveling kit? I see the note the Metalcloak will not fit a stock JT. Anyone run the front diff on a Mojave? Price difference between AEV and MC is wild.

I'm still using the factory ones on my Gladiator, but on my JK I ran the Teraflex ones. Those were great quality, and fairly affordable. I'd also recommend the ARB ones for being rock solid.

The little skid plate things are necessary IMHO. I've literally seen Jeeps slides off either of those two diff covers, so it's not like they need extra protection.

While you're at it, I do recommend the extra cash for a lube locker. You'll have no good excuse anymore for inspecting your gears with each fluid change.
Do they make a lube locker for the JT DANA 44? Don’t think they do

After reading through this it seems the best place to ask.

The dana spicer aftermarket covers still fit the 23's I assume? With the change to the front housing I have read some covers wont fit? Also artec's truss says with the changes made to the housing their truss needs a bit of work to fit properly.

Had the spicers on my JL and they were solid. Worked well with the gasket so it's either these or ARB.
So it fit using the reusable gasket? Did you have an aftermarket track bar?

Yes the spicer covers work with the factory reusable gaskets. And the 44 diff covers for the JT fit no problem. I have an aftermarket tie rod, front track bar and factory rear.

Anything with a 'skid' that wraps underneath is going to eat into your ground clearance. Remember, losing 1/4"" of ground clearance is like going down in tire size by 1/2", and nobody ever wants to do that.

IMO, your best bet is a nodular iron cover that mimics the internal shape of the factory cover. Dana offers them for both the front and rear Advantek D44:

True, but protecting that front drain plug is pretty important. However, I'm wondering how many folks out there have actually damaged it?

I'm running the Rancho diff slider on the front of my JL and I have slid over some things with it with no problem. But you are right, it does stick down about 1/4". But it slides easily over stuff and protects from impacts very well. But I'm starting to lean toward the Advantek covers for my JT. I have not hit anything in a way that I think would have compromised that drain plug, and I have done extensive off-roading, including 3 trips to Moab and some other gnarly places. I think those Advanteks are really nice.

My ‘21 JTRD doesn’t have a drain on the front diff. I’m not sure when they stopped, including them on the axles

They phased out the drain plugs in the middle to late of the 2021 model year and maybe a few stragglers into 2022.

My 2021 WILLYS with a 2/21 build date had the drain plugs on both Axles.

They are hot or miss. It is nice to have, but could be vulnerable. My 21 has it.
