2023 Gladiator High Altitude with 3,500 miles on the clock. warning lights for 'stop/start' plus 'traction control' are on. Dealer says cause is that the braking system we have installed so that we can tow our jeep behind our RV is hooked up to 2nd battery (auxiliary) rather than main battery? Does that make sense? Braking system is 'Demco stay-in-play' and is working fine when we tow the Jeep

I don’t see how. Both batteries are in parallel when the truck isn’t in an official start/stop event. And the aux is buried, you wouldn’t be connecting to its posts. You would have had to do some crazy stuff when wiring it up to separate the batteries and connect to the aux only.

I think the dealer should tell you how that’s possible. I’m convinced they gave you a b.s. answer to get you to go away.

Do you have a stock battery setup? I'm not sure how this would be possible without modifying the factory wiring.

Thanks. My Gladiator is less than five months old. Completely standard. I'm thinking this dealer mechanic is wrong. Am getting 2nd opinion from dealer where I bought the car, plus good company who installed the Demco Braking system for RV towing. My Rzv is diesel pusher with airbrakes. Demco ''stay-in-play" system has always worked well on my previous Wrangler JL.

Why would you connect anything to the aux battery and not the main battery?
Yes, they are in parallel, but....................

It shouldn't matter, but it really amazes me that anyone would tap into that battery. Baffling, why not connect to the TOP battery that you can see and get to without removing anything - the one you show in your picture is the main, or crank battery. Always connect to that.
They'd have to get into the factory wiring, or into the PDC, to connect to the aux battery - what would be the point?

Dealer may be wrong, but you DO have a device they can't say how operates connected into the system's electric and braking. So they would be within their rights to charge for diagnosis.

First question is - when did this start? When that device was installed? If so, there's your answer.

Thanks guys. The problem only started after 3,000 miles, which included 1,000 miles of happily towing the Gladiator behind my RV. Am still calling BS on dealer diagnosis, for which they did not charge
