This is actually for my wife's new Wrangler but since the doors are the same - and if I like what we get her I may get something for mine..............
Anyway, the doors are lacking the storage down low like her Grand Cherokee had. Her GC had a nice storage cubby at the bottom of the door that was not a new, it was rigid and you could stash a small umbrella and other stuff in there.
She's ok with the nets but I can tell - not a "fan" of them.
Is there anything available to replace the cargo nets at the bottoms of the front doors that would make them more like her GC was?
I get why Jeep does the net thing - totally understood and for most it's perfect, it allows doors to come off easily and stowed on a wall, and it's not something for dirt and water to collect in - wash off the doors, the nets will dry. Smart.........
But I can tell she misses her storage on the bottoms of the doors.
Ideas?
Any FIRST-HAND experience?? Looking actually for that as I could find stuff, but prefer owner opinions and thoughts.

@ShadowsPapa, looks like amazon has something that might work.

https://www.amazon.com/YOCTM-Organizer-Wrangler-Gladiator-Accessories/dp/B081YYY21C/ref=sr_1_6?crid=37QKWVNXL15HR&keywords=wrangler+door+storage+pocket&qid=1674662707&sprefix=wrangler+door+storage+pocket,aps,171&sr=8-6&th=1

I would be more worried about how much of the tight leg space something like this takes up. That is one of the main reasons I haven't tried to get this yet.
Your concern is why I was hoping for first-hand experience as if it's sticking out too far........... there is limited space and for some, even the door strap rubs the left leg.

That one is just a bottle holder for the front doors, and they reserve the full cubby for the rears.
Looking for full cubby for fronts.
Storage for stuff - not cup holders.

My only 1st hand experience was test driving a 2019 JL - I immediately noticed the intrusion in the foot well space and found it very annoying and almost claustrophobic feeling for me. I knew they were after market so I figured I could remove them, but I saw the previous owner had put several screws in to the door panels to secure them - that was almost a deal breaker. But it had a few other deal breakers already. When I drove the JT even my wife noticed the freedom without those cup holders sticking out. You can get a set off Amazon, use some blue painters tape to see how they feel, return if she doesn't like them.

Sorry SP... I should have known you would have already looked for options and were asking for feedback from people that have tried them.

I did actually try to use something to make the center console cupholders larger but it didn't work with the storage I added to the outside front of the armrest. They might be big enough for water bottles and were pretty solid once inserted.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09N8K3H8Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

might be something to look in to if the door bins are a bust

My wife likes to keep stuff in the doors like a small pill bottle with some change, her compact umbrella, and some small odds and ends.
Spot for a water bottle not necessary, would just add to the storage. The net gets stuff tangled in them, small stuff falls out, etc.
Sometimes she puts a phone or something in the door cubby of her Grand Cherokee.
Rigid storage is the primary function. a spot large enough for maybe a pill bottle with change and stuff in it.
It's more about a door cubby not so much about a place to put a bottle. It would just be good for tossing her stuff into.

If I'm with her, I simply reach back and put my water bottle in the rear "cup holder" area behind the console. She can't reach back there (goes back to her handicap)

Replacements for door nets for JT

There is a thread on this and I think I have the highlights consolidated below. Problem with the door nets is they stretch out of shape .

there are these for filling the gap between the seat and the console. Mostly prevents items falling down and being next to impossible to retrieve.

the fit is a tight squeeze and a support inside is needed to wedge them open to make them useful.

there are several iterations of this net organizer on Amazon that hangs between the seat backs over the console - prevents items from sliding off the console into the back seat. Probably the best bet for storing a compact umbrella in the wrangler.

Dang, I need to check my search methods - obviously I misspelled something or didn't have my glasses on.
I'll dig through this - thanks, good starting point.

Yes, even the nets on my Gladiators didn't take long to get a bit stretched out. Plus stuff catches in the netting, etc. And for my wife - meh, she needs something better.
I'll deal with the nets in mine, but much as I hate to say it - this new one is hers. Dang. Jeep envy.

I find it interesting that you guys are going wrangler for her if she clearly loves some of the gc and comforts other SUV style vehicles do much better (no offense)

Purple. That's part of the answer.
You should see the list of stuff I have ordered that's purple for that interior - including new USB C to C short cable - in purple. Headlight and radio dial covers - purple. Hood latch covers - purple, and more.

The shortcomings - It's mostly storage stuff.
The shifter being waaay far away is a semi-problem but she's getting used to leaning way forward so she can reach it. She's already proven she can run the transfer case shifter from 2 to 4H auto with little trouble.
The dash handle cubby, the ones that go on the side of the shifter area - those will help. She really likes those in the Gladiator (she bought those for my JT)
Once we get past some initial things like steps and storage, she's been happy with it.
Ya gotta admit, the nets are there to keep doors light and simple and aren't really that useful.

Honest, I feel some one asked how can we keep it cheap, and that was part of the answer ;)

I love this, very interesting insight in people
