I'm hoping somebody takes advantage of using the Factory rear under seat storage box as a model for making a bolt.down secure storage box for rifles or shotguns ( for purely sporting purposes! Of course?
My 870 fits right in

What are the forum’s thoughts on relative security of a Diamondback cover on the bed compared to storage in the cab interior? Especially if you want consistent secure storage when running soft, hard, or top-down modes.

Looks like a pair of Mossberg Shockwaves would fit nicely. ;)

I think it's fine due to the problems of safety in the U.S. You know that it's not good when there are a lot of criminals in our streets. However, I believe we should be prepared for the different danger that can be used for us. Personally, I prefer to use a rifle gun with a good scope. Since I had a bad experience with criminals that wanted to rob my house, I decided to get the best scope that I ever had. So searching on Google, led me to the article (consumerepic.com) that gave me the confidence about it. So, I decided to buy some since they are pretty good and costs not too much with delivery...

I highly recommend you put your truck rifles behind the rear seat and lock it. That locking mechanism is pretty hefty, and I don't think criminals look behind the back seat of a truck for loot. It's not as easily accessible, but we're much more likely to be burgled than a SHTF need my rifle in 5 seconds kind if situation.

I also got the Tuffy console lock box for a G26.

‘I’m a little confused by your comments. If you are interested in having a gun for home defense why would you want to put a long range scope on it? Most of your shots, if it came down to that, would be 1 to 30 yards ....either iron sights or a very low magnification scope (1x4) or a red dot would work much better.

I see you’re in London....I was under the impression that you could get arrested for having a pocket knife let alone a rifle...I do have a friend that has a few weapons in London but it is due to his “line of work”...otherwise very rare ...or illegal!

I travel to shoot sporting clays and I put my gun behind behind the rear seats as @WSU JKU shows in his picture. It is nice to able to lock the seat back in the upright position while making a pit stop.

That's essentially why I started this thread:

https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/metal-rear-seat-lock-boxes.25203/

I was hoping Tuffy would get around to engineering an underseat STEEL lockbox just for that purpose.

I had a Tuffy lockbox with a slide-out drawer in my old 2001 Wrangler. I first removed the rear seat and bolted the lockbox to the floor in its place. The drawer could be unlocked and slid out after you opened the tailgate. There was enough space inside that drawer to break down and store two ARs, maybe a shotgun, etc., as well as for ammo and mags.

I hope Tuffy eventually offers a solid lockable unit for that underseat area of the Gladiator.
