Just bought a 2021 high altitude and I am getting the same noise but mine is doing it at higher speeds or when I’m coming to a stop I do tap my brakes a lot to use the downshifting of the transmission. I also took mine into the dealership and they just jumped in and listened to it with me driving and they was like oh that’s normal but i didn’t hear it when I first got it and now that I have 6k miles it’s annoying me. Did you find out what it is???
Yes. Read back a few posts. I posted the fact the 7mph thing IS abs. Your other noises are not.
Read back to see my post with nissan statement. Case closed. Initial 7mph clunk is abs.
If it's annoying you - I gotta ask - is this your first modern light-weight bodied 4x4 with ABS?
Sounds of ABS are normal - you'll really freak if you are using the off-road descent cruise control function as it will rattle the ABS system pretty loudly, or if you hit the brakes on a slick road and ABS kicks in and the pedal pulses and the brakes rattle.
A few clunks and bumps are not abnormal. There's not a lot of body or insulation between you and the chassis. You'll hear a lot more than you will in your BMW or Grand Cherokee or Porsche or Lexus.

At any rate - a minor clunk at 7 mph IS the ABS system self-check at speed and it only does it on the first take-off after first starting it. It won't do it again until you stop and shut off the truck and then start it again later and go - then first time you hit 7 mph, it will do it again.

Other clunking is simply downshifts on hills. I did notice last night while towing after dark and when I accelerated manually to get around a really slow annoying truck and just kept trying to flank or pace me, when I let up on the throttle - the truck automatically applied the brakes and took me back to my set cruise speed of 65. It was amazing. When I was going down a fair hill and was gaining speed because of the loaded trailer behind me, the truck did a GREAT job of controlling things by shifting, applying engine braking and so on. I was thoroughly impressed - damn thing is almost as smart as I am - and I admit, sometimes it's SMARTER!

This is my first wrangler/gladiator but I have owned Chevy and GMC trucks my whole life and never had this noise. The best way to explain the way it sounds is a bad U joint sound or the way a Jeep sounds when shifting from park to drive you know that clunky sound. So this is normal for the Jeep? When driving down the road pressing on the gas and letting off the pressing the gas pedal again and coming to a stop ( CLUNK) I mean I just turn up the radio but I want to make sure my 60k Jeep isn’t breaking lol I mean I already have a leaking rear axle which is getting fixed next week :(

I think I finally found the source of mine. Any feedback how to fix this?

You don't have the same sound that started this thread. This is only for that subtle "clunk" at exactly 7 mph at the FIRST take off of the trip. Subsequent stops and taking off again don't create the sound until you shut things off and restart the engine and move again and hit 7mph.
If you have loose parts - you are not experiencing the sound we're talking about. Very different.

Got it. I’ll delete.

I have this same issue. Took it to the dealer twice for them to tighten everything under the front end and it still does it. My dealer is not aware of the ABS but that’s par for the course.
