I miss living on the Presidio. I was assigned as an “advisor” to the Federal Violent Fugitive Task Force out of Oakland, and decided to park the family there across from the Bridge and the beach. 2 of the best years of my life.
Nice! I live right outside the Presidio
@Pepe

Just to clarify, why do you recommend the Twill over the Vinyl?
On the Bestop site the Black Diamond is $749 and the Twill is $849. I assume the BD is the Vinyl.
What makes the Twill worth the extra $100? Thanks...
Thicker material, which translates to better noise reduction and better at maintaining climate inside cabin.

@KurtP

I was stationed on / worked at the Presidio in 1970-71. Not a typo... 1970-1971.

I was billeted at Ft Baker on the other side of the Golden Gate. I used to drive my Army issue Jeep back and forth across the Golden Gate, multiple times a day... Geeeez, I liked that duty station.

I was a passenger in a small 2 seater navigator plane that crash landed on the small runway on the Presidio in late 1971 .. Yup, I survived ... and only thing that happened to me was I chitt my pants.
Hahaha. Thats awesome. And like, of course the Army gave that station up. “Yeah we dont need this. Could you get us 7,000,000 acres of swamp somewhere please?”

Do you guys think it’s worth the 700 plus dollars
It's not worth $700.

The value in the Sunrider is that you no longer have to deal with taking off the panels and figuring out how to store them without damaging them. You literally stop at a red light and 5 seconds later the roof is open and you're on your way. If you are jumping in the Jeep to run to the store, you probably wouldn't pull the panels. So you'd end up only having the top open when you go on longer trips and then you would have them in the truck somewhere taking up space and potentially bouncing around. Being able to open the roof every single time in seconds and being able to enjoy the Jeep is where the value is. That's is worth way more than $700 to me.

Most definitely if all you have is the hard top.
I loved it so much I went out and picked up the full soft top.
So now in the winter months I will use the hard top with sunrider, all others full softtop.

I see your full soft top is nicely bunched up and compact in the "man bun" mode... any special tricks to this?

I picked up a used/new in box twill top recently and can't seem to get it to stay "organized" back there. The edges are flopping around in the wind, hanging off the back of the top. One fold of the fabric is down inside the cab above the rear passengers. I'm baffled. Never had this many issues with the 4 different tops over the years i went through on JKU's.

Your looking at two different tops.
First picture is my hardtop with my Sunrider, Second picture is just a full soft top.

Yes, i know, I'm referring to the full soft top. I just can't seem to keep the fabric under control when i fold it open. I used the velcro straps to keep it down, but the fabric gets all wild in the wind. I'm worried i'm going to tear the seam where the fabric attaches to the support bars.
