Do you ever do anything local, or up in the Sierra’s? I recently retired for the second time and moved from the desert up to Visalia. I am waiting on my Gobi Mojave to be built and have been looking for some local clubs in this region. Well ones that aren’t extreme rock crawlers. Not much luck so far.

Congrats on getting a gobi (wasn’t available when I got mine) I have been trying to do stuff locally trying to find spots is a bit difficult, many areas were closed for fires and closed for the winter. I’ll be heading up to bald mountain and areas I found around three rivers. Also found a few forest service roads I want to check out.

Or gather at a location & travel together. Something about safety in numbers, etc.

It could be foreseen that members anywhere could (time permitting) do one meet & drive over to another. We retired ones could hit several events inside a years time.

I have ridden ADV bikes for decades & traveled mostly by bike to events. Texas offers some fantastic riding bike or jeep trails. The plus is the little towns in these remote areas are usually very friendly & go out of their usual schedule to help visitors.

Keep in mind much of the land we cross is BLM. Much of this BLM is for cattle grazing & gates need to be shut behind you as we travel through. Not a rant here.


Some of the best rides I've been on were National Parks. Consider a yearly pass. It'll save you many dollars.
Big Bend, TX should not be over looked. It must be a well kept secret as only read it was mentioned once.

I'm in NE Florida, Ocala & Osceola Forest are just full of trees if you want to hug one no one cares.
In fact you may get down right friendly on week days.

I'm in VA, willing to travel up 300-500 miles, if there is a campground with power nearby, especially during june-july.

Where about in VA are you located? I’m about 45 mins. from Lynchburg and bout hour n 30 mins from Peters Mill run trail. Maybe we can meet up one day.

In Virginia, had a few Jeeps and guided for Camp Jeep and Jeep Jamboree back in the day.... currently stock JTRD . Willing to definitely meet up and do trails around the area and depending where and time around the east cost. Like the idea of getting a number of gladiators together and doing some trails and meet and greet.

Where about are you in VA I’m near Lynchburg and would be up for meeting up for a day ride sometime. I’m about a hour and 30 mins from Peters Mill run.

Same I’m about a hour and 30 mins from Peters Mill maybe all us from VA could get together one weekend. There also Ball Mountain Jeep trail near us as well.

In laws live in Oshkosh and I hunt in Shiocton. Very familiar with the area . Of course it's a days drive to get there from south Georgia, but it would be a fun trip.

I have at least a half dozen friends go straight to Colorado after high school. Lost touch with all but one who I haven’t had the nerve to contact since he turned me down for being best man at my wedding 25 years ago.

We’ve all got those people in our past. I’ve got one former friend in Oshkosh I haven’t talked to in 20 years, and I regret that. Distance makes things tough.
