Swap to 8.4N Head Unit???

What does it take to upgrade to a 8.4 or 8.4N head unit?

if you get an 8.4 from a gladiator it is play-n-play (at least it was for me). Believe there is backup camera issues if it is from a JL.

Do those hotspots even work anymore? Last I heard, the wifi hotspots don't have service anymore as they discontinued it in the face of constant problems with the hardware and AT&T's service. I never saw a resolution that brought them back into service. Maybe I missed it somewhere though...

My wife's Wagoneer has the AT&T hot spot and it works great. Not sure on the Gladiator.

None of the 8.4 Uconnect Remote Features are available when you do an after purchase upgrade. They are only available on factory installed units.

Yes. Bezel and radio. Super simple to swap..

Takes a few start/stop cycles for everything to update and work correctly. I could see the display but had no sound for 4-5 cycles.

Yeah, I was checking it out yesterday and noted that there's no separate bezel like my Ram trucks and the Chrysler 300 I had.

When I priced the 8.4 from Mopar, the cost was more than a Stinger Heigh 10. It was going to cost me the same to have someone install for me, sorry I'm a coward about opening the dash and for $150 dollars it was worth it. Opted for the Stinger Heigh 10 and extremely pleased.

No, I just use the one on my phone. I have everything that the 8.4 would give me, plus a bigger screen at a lower price.
