My falcons are cupping already. Like really bad and only at 20k miles. Dealer says they can't do anything about it. I had them on my TJ too. Once they got to the first wear bar in the tread they turned to slicks. The wet lugs are not even touching the pavement.

Odd, running Falken WP AT3 W's on my wife's '21 JK Sahara (285/65/R18) and so far they are wearing great (26k).

Cupping is caused by suspension issues
It is rarely if ever the actual tires fault

You got something F-ed up and it aint your tires. I'd suggest taking your Gladiator to a non dealer, reputable 4x4 shop

They are replacing one front shock and one rear coil. Someday. They can’t seem to get the parts.

I had them on my ‘00 TJ. Great until the first ware marker then they were slicks on the outside edges. Got a set of tiger paws for my tacoma. $375 for 4 tires installed and those suckers are still rolling strong!

hooked on this thread. i've run BFG AT KO/KO2 for 25+ years on XJs, ZJs, WKs, WK2s and Sliverados in dozens of sizes. They've always been awesome and reliable until a month ago I put a new set on my WK2 and they vibrate noticeably at highway speed after several rebalancing attempts. Maybe I got a bad set but I was about to take off the Falken MTs on my new JT for BFGs but second guessing myself.

I've heard good things about the Nitto Recons but not seen many in the wild yet.

To the main point of the thread, definitely still think AT is the way to go if you are mostly on the road, which sadly whether we admit it or not, most of us are.

The shock and coil can definitely cause cupping.

What psi are you running? With how much load are you mostly driving?

If it is not a defect but the suspensions fault then I feel like they owe you tires also.... not that they will see it that way. Sorry to hear.

If it is mpg or noise I feel like a gladiator or wrangler is the wrong vehicle. If it is the kinda noise you need an engine swap and or an upgraded speaker system, and stop caring.
This is a bit of an obtuse way of dealing with the issue. If you have a family, a passenger you want to converse with, or simply spend a lot of time on the road, tire noise is absolutely an issue. Indeed, it is precisely why so many ATs and RTs have been put on the market, and why mod boggers aren't popular.

Obtuse, if you say so...
The reason there are that many tire options is simply due to the fact that there is a market and demand, and companies want to make money and take a share of that market. A large portion of that demand is generated by people that are not driving their trucks or vehicles as pure offroad/competition vehicles and want certain visual cues also. Heck, I am sure that 70% of Jeeps never even see a dirt road.
I have not found that a well-made reputable tire, that has not hardened out, that is balanced and that is not a pure offroad performance tire to be so noisy to be an issue, be that conversation, family, pets or travel. One could argue that driving a stock GC SRT in the same circumstances is just or more noisy to drive and also there it is not seen as an issue, but simply as the identity of a vehicle with srt engine... and if it was your personal opinion that there was an issue, most people would simply find that you were trying to solve a problem/issue that is based already on vehicle choice. Loud engine, or in the case of the Gladiator a Brick with tons of wind resistance and no real insulation or sound deadening to speak of. One could start there if one is annoyed, or maybe it is just the wrong vehicle ?

It is what ever the deal makes it. I run with no load and bone stock. Who knows Maye they never even rotated the tires.

So I had Patagonia mud tires and I moved from California to Texas, so no more snow for me so I just switched from those to the Patagonia all-terrain tire and I can’t believe the sound difference and I thought the mud tire was quiet. I am really happy so far and @Discount Tire took care of me no complaints.

Your dealer is being lazy. Tires are warrantied by the manufacturer but the dealer is supposed to be a representative.

You can go to any tire shop that is a dealer for your brand of tire. You will also probably get a better response.

I haven owned Falken Wildpeaks and BFG K02s. I've also done a ton of research on the General Grabber AT.

I think the OP will be happy with any of them.

My Falkens were great in the snow. Surprisingly good. I can't comment on the K02s because I now have a set of dedicated Nokian snow tires (amazing in the snow, quiet on a dry road, loud on a wet road) so my K02s have never seen snow.

The Grabbers get stellar reviews on tirerack.com

Also, I test drove a Willys when I was shopping and immediately thought to myself. "No effing way could I live with this".

So yes, the Mts that come on a Willys are much louder than any of the AT choices I've mentioned.

I will offer a different opinion here. Currently still on the stock wild peaks on the JTR. They have done well this winter, with the exception of the wonder that for some reason they produce - others have reported it as well.

Previously, on my OBS F350 I had duratracs. Lots of people hate those. But they were quiet, and had amazing grip. The sidewalls are supposedly a failure point but personally I never had a sidewall slice. And I am in some nasty sharp shale rocks often.

Now. The KO2's. Last year I put some KO2's on my TJ, because everybody raved about them. They are by FAR the WORST tire I have EVER had! So bad, I am practically willing to give them away for free just to have an excuse to get something different. They are a terrible tire. yep I know I will get so much hate for this and that's fine. But in my experience, they made everything about the TJ at least twice as bad. Vibration, noise, harshness. They wonder so bad I don't dare drive it in the winter anymore. They cannot stick to the road worth a crap in the ice.

Now, rant over, previously to the KO2's I had Cooper STT Pros' on the TJ and they did far better in every aspect. This goes so contrary to everything which is crazy, but I absolutely love the cooper's. They were nice and quiet, rode good, super tough, lots of traction. Being a M/T they didn't seem like it on the road. 2 years ago before the gladiator I was commuting in the winter in terrible ice and snow in the TJ with the coopers. Obviously had to slow down but never felt dangerous. The KO2's on the other hand are, IMO, total garbage. I really don't understand why so many people like them.

But I digress - based on all the reviews, I'm going to take a stab at the new Baja Boss probably sometime this summer.

All that being said I've seen plenty of folks with a A/T do the same stuff as folks with a M/T off road. It may be harder in some instances, but it's all relative I think.
No hate from me regarding KO2s, I honestly don’t understand the hype they suck. I had the exact experience as you…not just bad but literally the worst tire on everything except bone dry asphalt/ dirt roads. Which isnt saying much since just about everything this side of a bogger is good on dry roads.

I will also second the opinion on Baja Boss tires, don’t matter which one. I have 37” MTs and put them through everything this winter and they blew me away (ice, hard pack snow, deep powder snow, cold wet roads, mud, and even a few days of dry roads lol)

Cheers
