Tailgate latch broken

Covers on and pretty much the same as the one I took off as far as fitment and how it attached to the bed. Need it to warm up some so the sides will fold down and been more clean looking but other than that it's a tight fit. When it rains I'll report how well sealed it is

My tailgate handle "CONTROL UNIT" #7 (PN# 68335648AC) broke last week too! I finally had time to go by dealership and they could make me an "appointment" in a couple of weeks. ? I spent a few minutes and got my bed cover off, opened the tailgate plate and there's that same piece of weak plastic others posted earlier. The plastic post on a plate snaps. You have to replace the whole mechanism. $80 so not too bad but, it's going to break again. Need to figure out how to reinforce the post-plate junction......hmmmm....

$80? It was $29 shipped to my house in 2 days, if your paying $80 for it I'm not sure why.

That's the part you need if it's the same thing that happened to mine. That's part number 7 I sent you a link to. It's less than $20+ shipping.

Yep, the "Stealer" got me that time but wanted it STAT....still surprised it is this cheap...but obviously cheaply fabricated or it wouldn't have broken so soon.

Man that's some serious up charge, even at my dealer they only wanted $50 for it. $80 is ridiculous
