Tailgate question on 2021 JTR ?

Does the key fob suppose to lock and unlock the tailgate on a 2021 JTR ? Mine doesn't lock it. My U Connect is set to " all doors" . Can only lock it and unlock it manually with the mechanical key. Is that normal?

PS. I got a Mopar bed cover installed today by the dealer. I noticed when I got home the lock issue. Could they have screwed something up ? But what?

It's supposed to be tied in to the electric locks for the cab. I would ask the dealer about it. There may be a loose connection inside the tailgate.

Mine unlocks with the remote.

My fob both locks and unlocks.

My fob and UConnect both do.
It autolocks when I take my doors off.

Well, if it worked before the dealer had it, and it doesn't work after the dealer was done, then yeah, I'd say it's something the dealer did.

If it didn't work before, then someting is probably loose in the tailgate.

It’s supposed to. Whether it did before or not. Either way it should be taken care of under warranty

Thanks, but mine locks and unlocks easily with the mechanical key.

Does your backup camera still work?

I wish my tailgate wasn't power unlock (Tacoma/Tundra guys wish theirs were). I've been debating seeing if I can unplug the harness, but keep the backup camera.

Why would want that? I had a Tacoma and a Tundra and I hated that the tailgate didn’t lock or unlock with the fob.

Check the connection at the tailgate, there is a plug on the side that can be removed if you take the tailgate off. It may have come loose?

Because I want to keep stuff locked in the bed under my Diamondback cover. Otherwise someone can smash a window and just press unlock on the door to get in the bed.
