Thanks to Russ (Rusty PW) I had a good conversation. (Brain surgery appears to have gone well)

Update:
The first person in the room was the doctor's assistant an ARNP.
She said that generally they'd rather see leakage of CSF instead of fluids due to infection.
The doc came in and they were sort of like "are you sure" on the pain meds (I'm off all of them) and he reiterated - don't lean over! And don't "strain"...........
I've been leaning over, even head down, and sometimes lifting, opening jars for my wife - well, back to mirilax as well LOL

I thought that was just for the first month - nope - a lot longer than that.
He said my scalp would feel like it was numb or tingling or even crawling for a long time yet as nerves healed and things got reattached and healed. Even the large lump on the right rear of my scalp - he said over the months it will get better, but there's a large connector in there where the electrode wires attached to the others. So there will always be a "watch out for this area" when combing and getting hair cuts (so they don't snag it with anything like a trimmer)

He said that the pin hole the leakage was coming from appears to have sealed itself over since yesterday. No leaks since last night.
I'm to take a picture of that area, a close-up, in a week, and send it to him.
IF it doesn't close up and seal - it means they open that area, flush it out and re-stitch it. But he doesn't think that will be necessary at this point and "give it more time"
In the meantime, I guess back to not doing anything!
I certainly can feel your frustration, ypu obviously have always been a man on the go . Tough to just sit.

Get your wife to put a drop of super glue over that hole. That will seal it and let it heal. Right now, I have super glue holding my left thumb together from when I got in a fight with a food slicer the other day. Have a nice slice along side of my thumb. Needed stitches but said screw that. I'll fixed.

Wifey has 2 bumps on top of her head. One on each side. That's the end of the implants sticking up. She has to be careful about them. No longer can wear a motorcycle. So her bike riding days are done.

So it opened because of too much bending over, too early?
He didn't really say that, but.............. it sounded like he was suggesting I should not as things are still loose and not grown back up there.

Interesting the doc in urgent care said to wash my hair with SOAP and not shampoo.
She prescribed a strong antibiotic, and the doctor today said that was good, to be sure to take the full course.

I thought I was going to get back into doing some things, I guess not - not for a while, anyway.

But when the recovery is over, sounds like you’ll be able to do everything you used to.

Except lay under a vehicle. There's no fix for that.

But even with the initial setup on the DBS, it's amazing how much better the tremors are - almost totally gone in my left hand, a good 60-70% gone in my right.

Sounds like I will always have to be extremely careful about bumping my head - but that's doable.

No more wild sex with the horse saddle, a quart of motor oil, and the 12v battery with jumper cables.

What’s the deal with laying under a vehicle? So glad the tremors are so improved. That’s really great news.

Two likely causes -
Meniere's
and
I've lost over 50% of the functionality of my left middle ear - the bit that helps you keep balance.
With one side working and the other side saying wait a minute, we're falling down, you have a conflict going on that in my case, makes me fill ill, headache, and the effect can last for hours.
It means if I'm ever pulled over for being sober, I likely can't walk a straight line. Now with the implants, though, I'll easy pass the fingers to nose test.
Stairs cause a problem - can't carry weight and walk down stairs without a railing.
Oddly enough, ok in a bicycle. Ok sitting most of the time although I've had attacks where I literally could not sit in a chair - literally falling over, and I have to wait those out. Thankfully, those are RARE, every few years.
But these days, laying down, looking up or to the side like on a creeper, I get sick feeling.

There was an episode of Chicago Fire years ago I'll never forget. The character Peter Mills fell off a ladder and he went unconscious while inverted doing a save.
What struck me was the reality of the testing the doctor did where doc had him lay down, and turned his head - and his eyes started darting back and forth uncontrollably.
They played that scene very well

Glad to hear the tremors are better. Sounds like you’ll be in a much better place once the wounds heal over. Jeesh, always something huh?

My wife makes fun of me because I like that show. I like mindless tv. Helps turn off my brain.

Time to get a lift in the garage!

Today another trip to urgent care this am.
This time for a thumb hurting like a 12 on a scale of 1 to 10.
The surgeries for the implant didn't hurt this bad.

They took xrays - my thumb joints have literally deteriorated to the point a piece of calcium growth broke off and is wedged beside the joint in my left thumb.
Doc said I need to see a specialist and wrapped my thumb so it can't move.
While I was waiting for the xray results and the doc to come back in, I got a message that my test results on the fluid leak of last week had come in.
Positive for trace white blood cells and positive for two types of bacteria- one of them the same stuff found in our well water.
No plumber around here will install a UV filter, though- once I mention "well", they never call back again.

Back on massive pain killers for the thumb, there goes some work I was planning on doing, and the antibiotics for the head area (at least the "leaking" as stopped!)
