Well we are popping back into the 90's with 50% humidity and going higher over the next couple days.
We have been starting out at 70degrees in AM and in sheltered valleys at 60 and hitting 90 + in the afternoon.
Here is a question
How often should freon/ refrigerant be checked ?

Doesn't need to be checked unless there is a cooling problem, which these vehicles can trick you into thinking there is because they are so hard to cool.

I can't remember the last time I had a vehicle that needed freon.

I will say one max cool Im good , and it really cools off once I am off this site and moving .

my '04 Tacoma still blows ice cold. Cooling the inside of a jeep with a black fiberglass top is tough. Get a head liner and a window shade that should help keep inside cooler reducing the internal radiant head.

We're hitting the 90's - 100's here in Hawaii! I can't wait until winter time, where in some areas can get as low as 65!!

A/C systems can only reduce the temperature by a certain amount. If you're not sure if the system is working correctly, get a thermometer you can stick in one of the vents(Autozone & O'Reilly's sell them). With recirculating air turned off, you should see a 30-40 degree drop from ambient temp. If it's 90 out, you should have 50-60 degree air coming out of the vents. If it's 100 out, 60-70 degree temps are normal.

For best A/C performance, make sure your cabin filter is changed regularly and not restricting air flow. Open windows immediately when getting in a hot vehicle to remove excess heat. Once the vehicle has started to cool down on the inside, switch to recirculating air.

We're only going to get to 97° today, but on our way to the low 100's next week, thankfully at 22% humidity I can say it's a dry heat and I still don't have doors or top on my Jeep!

Having lived in Central Missouri I have no desire to live i that type heat and humidity again.

Winter here we have -#'s i am wanting to say it got down to negative 5 windchill was negative 20 snowed 12 inch3s in the lowlands on January 1st was so cold stayed on the ground for over 2 or 3 weeks. 65 degrees geesh I would be riding bike every day.

Heat index was 109º a few days ago in South Florida..The inside of my truck feels like the arctic. If my A/C works in Florida heat you have nothing to worry about.

You test it every time you turn on the AC. Put your hand in front of the vent and see if the air is cool.

The 04 Dakota I just traded in still worked on the original charge.

Get one of these thermometers. Stick it in a vent with the recirc air on, a/c on max, all windows up. Leave the engine run for a while. Should get down below 60F out of the vent. The rest of the interior won't get down that low.

Just put the windshield down and stack a few blocks of ice on it…cheap and cool.
