If you guys like the show you need to read the books
Read the books before I watched the show. I'm about halfway through season 4 right now. They've done a pretty nice job of staying more or less with the storylines from the books; any deviations make sense so that they satisfy TV watchers.

Disregard. Thought your truck was named after the Rocinante from The Expanse series. I guess workhorse should have been a clue you were referencing Don Quixote.

I'm still working my way through the last book before I watch Season 6. Shame Amazon wouldn't give them another season for the last book. I hope the ending isn't rushed.
I'm a fan of both- as for the Expanse, I watched the show before I was aware of the books, and am working my way through them now. REALLY well written. But I still missed the reference. Maybe haven't gotten there yet?

Ok, so before everyone gets too far ahead of me, I'd better continue.
Jeep Gladiator The Rocinante- a workhorse for a hatchback guy 6290D878-C46E-4A49-A009-53869F300857

Found a set of Rubi take-offs in the "pay it forward" forum, had them on within 20 minutes of leaving the dealer.

Had a hard time matching the font from the ship on the Expanse, so I copied it from screen shots and made my own. Found a few choice pieces elsewhere...

And finally, the stripes. The light grey looks almost white in the sun, but I was worried a medium grey would get lost next to the granite crystal... Ends up with an almost N7 look.

I posted a link to a video explaining the reference back on page 1. Miller says it to Holden during one of his lunatic ramblings that he does so well.

I'm normally not a huge fan of wheel well LEDs, but I mean come on. This build is just BEGGING for a blue glow... ?

The Name
Ok, so there's a story behind the name. My buddy Mike bought a 2021 Wrangler 2door (named "Zoey Lynn"), and when I told him I was ordering a Gladiator, he told me that I had to name it. The conversation went something like this: "It needs a chick name. You should name it after your grandmother" Now, I could have named a Caddy after my grandmother, not a truck. So he suggested "Trixie" WTF is wrong with you? "I pick good names! Bubbles? Ella?"

At this point, in self defense, I started thinking about it. The only vehicle I ever saw my paternal grandfather (Navy vet, history teacher) drive was a white hardtop CJ7 with a big NRA decal on it. In my memory, it was named "Traveler," after Robert E Lee's horse (my grandfather belonged to the North-South skirmish association). So this got me thinking of horse names. I don't know many horses, so I decided to look up the name of Don Quixote's horse (because I had forgotten). Well, because I watched the show before reading the books, I flipped out a bit when I made the connection between The Expanse (a favorite), and the play/character (also a favorite). But something didn't seem quite right, because I had the nagging feeling about the name of the CJ. So I called my mom (English teacher). I said, "Wasn't Papa's Jeep named Traveler?" She reminded me that Traveler was what she and my dad had named the green Volvo that they bought in '76. "Papa's jeep was named... Rocinante." So there it is. How could I not? So my 2022 Jeep Gladiator carries the name of my grandfathers CJ7.

She’s tough and will tow your trailer no problem, just stay away from Cygnus X-1 - the max tow is no match!
Ok, I confess that I had to look that up. But you've contributed to the "thing I learned today" file. Thanks! ;)

Bed Roll! Needed a locking bed cover, so... I got one (BAK Revolver X4s). Needs a bit of adjustment, and I might replace the hardware with nutserts, but it'll do the trick. I like that it's got t slots for future bed rails, if I can find something that will work with them.

I hear there might be a couple movies to wrap it all up.

I freaking love The Expanse.
A couple of movies!? I hope so! We're kinda big fans, here.
