It does look a little more than normal, but I'm not sure about excessive.

I recently had to put my stock tierod back on because of excessive movement with Apex tierod ends. And it was causing a wobble.

I believe the joints have springs in them that would allow for the tiniest amount of play.

My truck has early onset death wobble as I'd like to call it.

If I hold my hand on the tie rod end joints and have someone wiggle the steering wheel back and forth, I cannot feel any clunking in the joints.

If I do the same thing with my drag link, I can feel a clunk with my hand on both the upper and lower end.

So, I am replacing the drag link as if its worn enough to clunk by feel or is audible, it's work enough to replace in my opinion.
