I’m looking to get new rubber on my ‘22 Mojave. I’m currently on an AEV 2” spacer lift and I’m on 35x12.5x18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I would like to go up to 37” for the extra inch of clearance and because I think they proportionally look great, especially since I have 18” wheels…

I’m between the three listed options:
35x12.5x18 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT
37x12.5x18 Toyo Open Country R/T Trail
37x12.5x18 BF Goodrich KO3 AT

They’ve all got some pros and cons.

The Baja Boss are on here cause so many people seem to rave about them and they loo fantastic. It looks like they don’t make a 37 for an 18 wheel, but I could live with a 35, plus I don’t plan on re gearing any time soon. The down side is 35” and they weigh in at 74 lbs each. Now my current Nittos are 75 so that’s not terrible, but lighter would never hurt.

The toyos also have a great look to them, and they come in 37. They are the priciest of the bunch, not that that is necessarily a huge issue but definitely a consideration. They’re also 74 lbs each, and 37 so a lot of mass to rotate at a longer radius.

The Ko3s are the lightest and cheapest of the bunch at 69 lbs, so only 5 lbs each, but I imagine it all adds up. I don’t know. They’re the least aggressive looking but will behave better most likely on the highway.

This is my DD and trail rig.
Now I know that ideally I’d regear, but I’m not interested for the time being. I also like in the Phoenix valley, AZ so things are pretty flat. I also previously owned a 2020 sport s max tow that had 37 ridge grapplers previously. It did fine so I’m not terribly worried about that for now.

I had a set of MT BB 285s on 18” rims. Lost about 1mpg milage but had terrific performance in loose sand (beach dunes). And they were surprisingly quiet on the highway (getting to the beach dunes). I changed rigs but when these tires are worn I’ll most likely go back to the MTs.

I have the Baja boss on a ford pickup and although they look nice and are made in USA I would never buy again they pick up gravel real bad and the ride is noisy and rough that’s all I have to say

I currently have the Toyo in a 35 and will be looking to move to a 37 soon. The tires have about 30k on them and still look great. They have performed well in sand, snow and mud for me. I am curious about the weight savings of the KO and will prob start researching it a bit more before I buy. Good luck

I voted Toyo, just bought a set of RT Pro's, very happy in my short time with them.

I voted Mickey Thompson only because that's what I plan on buying once I get my Metalcloak 2.5" lift installed.

I've seen too many complaints on the MT's with them cracking. Supposedly it was a bad batch, but my luck after spending that $ I'd get 4 of them. I went Nitto Trail Grapplers

I’ve loved my 33” MT Baja Boss A/T’s. I’ve put over 50,000 miles on them and they could still go another 10k miles. Granted most of those miles were on my lighter 2-door JK before I sold it and put them on my JT. I’m upgrading to 34.5” (295/70r18) tires, but I’m considering a lighter tire like the new Pirelli Scorpion XTM AT or Goodyear Duratrac RT.

I had Pirelli Scorpion AT's on my last truck (Silverado) and really liked them a lot. Got them on sale and they were an incredible value; I'd buy the AT's at full price a 2nd time. Quiet, grippy and wore well.

I liked them so much that we put Pirelli Scorpion All Seasons on my wife's van.

Unfortunately they don't make the size I need for the Gladiator.

Are you referring to the Pirelli XTM AT? You’re the first person I’ve heard review them. I’ve been very curious about their performance.

I didn't want to regear my max tow and I wanted something a little bigger than a 35 . I do a lot of stop and go driving so weight was also a consideration all that made BFG 37's ideal for me .

Sorry, no, mine weren't the newer Scorpion XTM AT's, they were the Scorpion All Terrain Plus
