I had Yokohama Geolander X-AT’s in 275 70R18 installed on my Overland. I just happened to check what the TPMS says for psi today and it said 66 for each tire. I double checked with a gauge when I got home and each tire is 66.5. That seems really high right? I was expecting 35-37 psi. What are you guys running?

Waaaaay toooo high! That said how did it handle/ride? Seems like it would have felt a little light and pretty rough on the bumps.

Wow- I can’t believe they inflated them so high. Everything I’m reading has them between 34-37. Going to adjust them now!

A little harsh. That’s why I checked! Going to adjust down now.

Look at the door and run what it says! there is a reason for it. GVWR! may be a pound or 2 difference depending on the tire rating but typically you run the pressure due to the vehicle weight.

Tire shop said they put them that high due to the E rating. I’ve put them at 38 (door label) and it rides so much better now.

When you change tire size you also need to change tire pressure. If you go to a larger tire your pressure needs to go down. As stated above I keep my 37s at 27 PSI cold. Problem is that it has been in single digits on some mornings a few weeks ago and it is currently 63 outside. I'm not going to adjust tire pressure every day just because of the current weather. I just have to ride in a log wagon on warm days. Or leave the Jeep at home and drive the car that was supposed to keep excess miles off of the Jeep. Car sits 6 days a week because I like driving the Gladiator so much.

your tire shop is staffed by a huge group of morons. All commercial tires have a load/inflation table somewhere. Find it for your tires and calculate your maximum load your truck can carry and get your tire pressure from that. Or do the chalk test that there are so many proponents of here. Or do what I do and wing it until you like the way it drives.
