Tire tread Life

I got a gauge and I think this guy did this the wrong way but would you pay $400 for these. Falken Wildpeak 255/80/17 , he was asking $600 but said he would take $400 for them.. I gonna use them when I tow our camper instead of doing it with the 37's. We are trading in our 4200 lb Grand Design on Tuesday and buying a 6000 lb Grand Design. Any thoughts on these. They look good to me.

They look pretty good, my Wildpeakes have about 33,000 mikes on them and still great tread. Those are the skinny load range E tires, take up to 80PSI and only weigh like 52 pound each, I want to get that size when mine wear out, always wondered what psi to put in them to be at the weight range factory was looking as factory tires that are 50psi and factory setting is 37psi.
I think you will feel a big difference cause of diameter and also tire weight. Flipping your camper after after a few trips is cool , hope they did good by ya….Jack

If you don't already have a spare set of rims for them I'd consider finding a set that's already mounted and ready to swap out.

I got my factory steelies and gonna mount them to those. Got a shop that's gonna do it for $30 and then swap them for me when I need them to for $20

They did. I knew I was gonna lose some on it but we needed something a little bigger. This one will give my wife bathroom space she wants and more room inside to sit people. Plus the bunks are open and can sleep a grown up if need be

I put that size Falken on my 2020 max tow and when I found a buyer for my Mojave tires, I put a new set on it too. I like them a lot, and run 37-40 psi in them.

I just picked them up, they look almost brand new. Be a better tow with these on than with the 37's. I'm gonna tow the camper back from Charleston SC on Tuesday on 37's though just to see how it does for the data but after that it will be with the Falkens on until they wear out.

I thank you will like them, the set that came on my JT lasted 65,000 miles. Running my second set that I bought from a member, great tires.
