I went with the Toyo Open Country AT3's in the 35*11.5/17's. The only mod I did was add a leveling kit. There's no rubbing and the ride was a massive improvement over the Firestone MT's my Willys came with.

265/70 R17 gives you the same final diameter as the street tires, 32" or so. So the speedometer is still accurate, and you maintain acceleration and towing. With an all-terrain tread you end up with a wider tread, around 9" instead of 7" for the street tires. A very commonly available size.

The 285/70R17 sizes others mention above are around 33" diameter whereas the street tires 245/75/17 are 32" and 265/70 R17 are also 32". The difference is around 1/32 so 3 percent or so. The extra diameter means another 1/2 inch or so of extra step in height (annoying) and ground clearance (good).

I tow so I chose the 32" size. If you don't tow and if the step in height is ok then you may want to try the 33" size. To test you could place the vehicle on 1/2" pieces of wood and see what the family thinks of the step in height.

Another option is to go by your local dealership and look for Jeeps that have been lifted with bigger tires. Sometimes they will pull the 33's off and put a Jeep on the curb with 37's to get people attention. Then they will sell the takeoffs real cheap. Sometimes guys buy new Rubi's and then have the dealership take off the wheels, do a factory lift, and get bigger tires.

You have a good chance to get a full set of Rubi Takeoffs for around $1,200 or less.

Have a special need little girl days can be rough she’s a trooper but by the end of the school well she’s done. We had a gladiator rental for a week taking the top of brought a smile.. with that said Im pricing a 23 gladitor sport s… One of the dislikes I have is tires it come with ( appearance) . Suggestions on upgrading to a more aggressive appearance regarding the tire without doing modifications? 99% of driving will be on road light off road at best.. trying to keep sound down on the tires….

I have been running the Mojave set and I like the offset and the tire stance. The tires are not too noisy and are an improvement on traction in the snow.

OK Friends, Help me and Eggy99 a little more...

I really like the look of Great Offender's tires! G.O., are they noisy on the highway? You did not really say. Looks like tread that won't throw the crushed rock of my driveway. A lot of AT's seem to. I am still running the exact tire you had from the factory. My concern here in Hawaii is the occasional off road will probably puncture one of them either tread surface or sidewalls. My Tahoe out here has a 6" lift and aggressive MS tires and I have no worries about those. (Although I ran over a GD goat and his horns holed a very expensive tire sidewall!).

I had a '61 GMC carryall in Kodiak-had great tires like Great Offender's second pair. Another fella had a nice set of wheels I liked but a lighter tread. We traded. Before I could get a better tire I had two flats just on gravel roads.

I had a '49 Power Wagon with military tread non directional that did not sing but then the cruise speed was just 42 mph and they sucked in snow.

What I am saying is that the tires from the factory are just fine out here on the road system but I have no good feeling about how they will last off-road on lava. let us if you have a MS that doesn't sing to you on the highway.

G.O., are they noisy on the highway?

I don't find them to be too bad but it's personal preference. I can also tell you that a M/T isn't a smooth tire either and you can feel the difference once you start rolling. Not a great wet weather street tire. I drive almost exclusively in the sand here because that's what we've got, BEACHES! Not sure what kind of stones you have in your driveway so I can't comment on that.
Wife noticed the increase in sound immediately so I just turn up the radio. I have only taken one long trip and can't say I noticed them being very loud but I took the stock tires off almost immediately after purchase so I don't have a good comparison (bought JT used). All 5 tires cost $500 and were 2 years old with very little, if any, wear. When they expire I'll buy 35's but still stay with a M/T. It's a toy and not my daily driver.

I looked long an hard for takeoffs before I made any decision. I also had a set of Rubicon wheels that I sold almost immediately after buying. Impulse buy that I regretted but that's what FB Marketplace is for. Sold them for more than I paid and also sold the stock tires 2 days after mounting the BFG's

Without that extra axle width will those Rubi take offs with 285/70/R17's restrict the front steering? Guess not, nobody mentioned this. Can I hear from Sport S owner who has done this? 3% on the speedo is not a big deal but tire rubbing would be.

Maybe it would be better to stick with the 265/70/R17? I really want General Grabber ATX. I have Grabber AT2's on my Tahoe, nice tread, very quiet...and not made anymore. Can't get the ATX in 245/75's. I prefer narrow tires for mud, and out here I don't see snow to float over. As I said earlier, really like quiet tires that do not sing to me on the highway.

I ran 285/70/17 on my 2021 WILLYS with no issue.

If you are buying new tires, you get the warranty, etc. Take-offs, no, you are your own warranty station. I like the Falken AT3W in 255-80-17E as they are quiet, slightly taller than the Rubi size, 2" narrower, and 10 lb each lighter. They are great on highway, rain, snow, rocky trails, everything except deep mud. Discount Tire can fix you up.
