I'm not going to be putting a lift kit on my Gladiator, at least anytime soon. When the time comes, I will replace my tires with something more aggressive like an off-road tire, but I need to stay with the tires that won't cause any rubbing issues if I were to go off-road. The ones I have are 245-75-R17's and I"m wondering if I can order anything that is taller for the same wheel that would work fine. Sorry for my ignorance, and I've been looking around for threads for information but I haven't seen anything yet.

I really don't want to buy another set of wheels. I may as well do the lift if I'm going to spend that much money.

I’ve seen guys sell the take offs like new for cheaper than a set of tires go for. You should be able to run the size I listed on your rims with no problems also.

I am still new to a lot of this but I went with Toyo Open Country AT3 in 285/75/17 and have no issues with rubbing the suspension while turning. I wanted to keep my wheels and like the look better than the take-offs.

I have not tried to disconnect the sway bar or see how far I can compress the springs yet, but I have gone through some rutted out dirt roads and everything seemed just fine. I did not bother to remove the plastic panels that connect the bumper to the fender.

If you like the look of the Rubicon or Mojave wheels, you can probably get take offs for cheaper than new tires as others have mentioned. The 285/70/17 Falken Wildpeak AT3 tires are nice and would probably have been my 2nd choice anyway.

There are other options in that size that are popular too. I see a lot of BFG K02s and NItto Ridge Grapplers.

If you want to go to 35's but don't want 12.5" tires (that might/will rub) you can look at Kenda Klever 35x10.5r17.

I chose 255-80-17 Falken AT3W for less added weight than the Rubi size, slightly taller at 33.1" spec, same width as stock Bridgestones for no rubbing on turning, etc. They don't look oh-so-gnarly at the mall, but are extremely capable where I care--highway, rain, snow, rocky trails.

Like Higher_Ground I went with Toyo AT3s in 285/75r17s. I use the truck on a lot of low/no maintenance forest roads and I've never run into clearance issues flexing the truck out at full Iock. I also have the Kenda R/T 35x10.5r17 as a spare and have had no clearance issues with that either.
