Light duty equipment is going to give light duty performance. The homeowner style plows are going to require multiple passes in a big storm and depending on where you are in the hudson valley that can mean cold storms piling up on the gunks dropping big inches or a southern storm chasing the river and dumping wet concrete.
Francis, where's home?

It was long island, then accord in ulster and now back to long island.

In one of the other threads I detailed the douglas dynamics (fisher/western) offerings by chassis.

And yes their site is clunky to say the least . If you can figure out what to feed it, it will give good results.

I'd love a long tree-lined driveway. Snow? I'd say screw it and forget plowing. I don't HAVE to go anywhere most of the time.
You got us beat all to XXXX and back with that long driveway.

We were fortunate enough about 3 or 4 years ago to be able to have a guy come in with his crew and rip out the gravel/rock driveway and put in concrete so now it's concrete from the garage to the road - far easier to clean that gravel - then having to rake rocks out of the yard in the spring. My neighbor's drive which we share so I can get back to my shop and trailer parking is still rock. He rarely clears it, and when he does he keeps his blade high as he's picky - NO rocks in the yard!

Tried that one year, forgot about the oil truck to make a delivery.

And there's one of my problems - my shop uses LP infrared heater as the mini split can't keep up in our cold. LP tank is back by the shop - accessible only via my neighbor's driveway which is winding, long, steep and gravel. So I have to time my tank fills just right. One year I got caught and the idiot driver not only got stuck, he kept trying to get out and dug hellish holes in the neighbor's yard as he slid off their driveway sideways (everything here is a hill or incline). The company charged me their rescue fee of 125. That was about the same cost as the LP!

Plowing gravel is a waste of time and effort. Also a quick way to hate life. Clients who tell me get a polite I'm sorry but I don't service gravel drives for liability reasons. Clients who don't tell me get 3" left behind and dragged full of tire tracks and a very polite "please see alternate service provides for future needs".

I ripped out my OAF blacktop driveway and did 6" concrete slab at 5000psi mix. My driveway always looks like hell until I get done plowing for money and then it looks like a billard table. Concrete is worth every penny so long as your sections are small, your slab thick and your expansion joints thought out. My driveway will in fact out live me.

I had a fellow do our driveway who also has contracts with the City of Des Moines and State of Iowa for concrete projects and retaining walls.
I found him accidentally when we needed a wall redone - was impressed by his refusal to cut corners and his instance that 6" is the minimum concrete thickness he'll do. He said we could drive a concrete truck over our driveway when it was done. Due to our horrible climate and the winters, there's been a little bit of shifting of a couple of sections - about 1/8" or so difference after the frost left the ground but not enough to catch a blade on, nor a tripping hazard.
As quick as I could after the driveway was done, I put sealer in the expansion joints - keeping water out is one of the keys to long life. Leave those gaps open can be bad news in this state.

Interesting on the Fisher Plow site:

"Requires measuring of ground to frame distance to determine correct mount kit. Select "Vehicle Height Requirements" button for detailed image and instructions. Not for use on Mojave package due to shock reservoir placement."

The shock resevoirs are in a bad bad place. But with a lack of gearing and lockers, Not a good choice to start with.

Ideally you want the plow arms level so feedback doesn't make the truck climb. Also too much attack on the edge can destroy both the edge and the surface.

I live in ulster county, and it’s pretty neat to see other hudson valley people on here. We’ve got a 1/3 mile long steep gravel driveway and I thought about getting a snow plow, but the guys that have been plowing our driveway often bring a bobcat, lol, so I don’t know how far we’d get with a light duty snow plow.

I’m excited to try out the gladiator this winter. The driveway is all tree lined, so lots of shady patches that get just enough sunlight to melt the surface snow, and then freeze into ice. Nothing gets the heart pumping like trying to come down our driveway and losing all traction in the Grand Cherokee, and wondering where I am gonna end up. There’s a pretty decent drop off on one side of part of the driveway that always seems much steeper in the winter. Who needs a cup of coffee in the morning when just getting out to the road will wake you the heck up.

I saved money on a plow by moving to Lower Alabama. I do miss wearing flannel shirts in the fall.
