Was it in with the regular diecast lane or over in the jurassic lane? I have been watching both areas for it to show up.

Been in the paint shop and assembly this cold windy weekend. If I can just finish up the wheels this week should be able to post the finished product.

I just ordered the same body. Which paid did you use to get Gobi? Tamiya has a sand one that's close, but I'm afraid to buy/use it if it doesn't match well.

You could order actual gobi touch up paint in a spray can. I’ll bet it would work fine on those plastic bodies (I’ve built a few)

Unfortunately not :(
Automotive paints like PPG do not adhere well to these Lexan bodies. Years ago I tried painting a clear Lexan body in Audi's Nogaro Blue (my favorite) and it was a disaster. I even tried twice, the second time with an adhesion primer... still didn't work.
They need a special kind of acrylic paint.

at the time I had the tamiya ordered and it was on backorder. I ended up canceling and got the Mopar gobi in spray can. Applied first coat and let dry 8hrs. Applied coat 2. Ran out before doing my fenders.
paint has adhered very well except for a recent roll in rocks which caused paint to crack in upper cab corner. May fix at some point but actually gives a little character and doesn’t look like a trailer queen now!

With the way you paint the body the exterior acts as the clear coat. I would lightly sand the interior for better adhesion when I built these models. I’ve done several of these from RTR street cars to full gas off-road buggies. I’m familiar with the adhesion and risks due to the flex in the Lexan. What’s needed is more flexibility in the dried paint product but the scuffing allows for enough adhesion from my experience. ?
