Hi All,

Had my new set mounted over the weekend on my 2024, and I’m getting nothing from the aftermarket sensors I ordered from ExtremeTerrain. I did search past forum posts, and I have tried the pressure down and drive approach to initialize the connection, but still nothing. I simply get “Tire Pressure Unavailable” and a solid dash light. Is a visit to the dealer my best bet at this point?

Assuming you did this, but low hanging fruit suggestion: I would double check that you ordered the right frequency sensors. Want to say there was a switch mid-year at some point with the JLs? Remember reading that on this forum somewhere. If that checks out, I think the car tire places may have a tool that can communicate with them to test them to see if they are working (would confirm the batteries in them are good). If so, then the issue may be wrong frequency or something wrong on the recieving end. If you didn't have a problem before than probably not a reciever issue. Is there a chance you could swap out the sensors from the old wheels and tires if you still have them?

Seeing that you have a 2025 model, we nor the tire place knows what the frequency is Kenneth.

Go to a tire store and see if they can read it first, as suggested by @Not2Late

Well, upon further review, it seems ExtremeTerrain’s online compatibility checker was incorrect in this case. They’re exchanging the sensors, but I’ll be on the hook for the cost of the change. Hope this saves someone else the frustration and cost.

Went through the same crap with ET. Problem is they wanted me to remove the ones they sent with the tires and wheels and take a picture of them. Hard to do when that’s you only ride and not wanting to pay twice. Put the sensors in out of my stock wheels, problem solved.

For what it's worth:
There was a VIN split, June 2021, for the TPMS system.
This was to resolve supply train problems that year.
Gladiators prior to that date have a completely different TPMS system
than the Gladiators after that date.
The newer TPMS sensors cannot be programmed to work
on a pre June '21 Gladiator.
The older style sensors are still available.

Indeed. I was actually aware of the difference ahead of ordering, but silly me - I relied on ET’s compatibility checking algorithm. There is a note saying the sensors work for 2020/2021 production vehicles buried in the product description. I should have double checked against the MOPAR number, I suppose. Again, hoping this thread saves someone else the headache.

How about a different approach, I too have this problem. and I am not interested in going to back to stock wheels. Either passenger side or rear side intermittently go out. I believe the sensors themselves are not that strong in their broadcast. and therefore the receiver cannot pickup of the signal - already had them replaced and after a day or two, return back to the same problem. . I am looking into what people thoughts are on a signal repeater/booster. I have found some, but I am not sure if the signal repeater/booster must be paired like like the sensor and receiver. if they can be unmarried and simply be the same signal 433,92 Mhz then in theory a well placed repeater/booster should significantly help with the weak signals. Any ideas on this approach
